A real ghost?
Please let me know your stories.

I haven't seen one but I have heard and felt a Poltergeist, along with 3 others at the time. I'll post a video clip of it.

I have seen one.

When I was going through many hard times in my life I was having trouble sleeping and while laying in bed I looked up and saw my grandmother standing there. She was telling me that everything was going to get better. This was 4 years after her death.

I also have been hearing different voices and footsteps in my new apartment and I feel that there is a spirt still wandering around.

I have seen one..late at night in my parents house when I was a child. It would walk through my room nightly for months, and then just stopped coming.

I haven't had the chance to see one or experience any thing like that, but I do believe that spirits of the dead still walk this earth.

I mean, it makes sense, if someone feels as if they are still needed here or that they have unfinished business then their spirit might stay behind to fulfill what ever it is that needs to be finished.

If you call a real ghost a person now in Spirit...yes numerous times.

Yes the ghost of a little girl. I like to visit graveyards and one night during a visit I came across a fresh dug grave. As I was reading the tomb stone I heard a noise and turned to look. There was a little girl in a long dress standing there watching me. I said hello and she waved at me then vanished. It was awsome to see.

I saw my mother and it freaked me out....she had been dead for almost a year and I was recouping from surgery when I saw her in the corner of my eye... I turned and she was gone...(no it wasn't the pain meds I was off of them by then)she was trying to warn me about something major in my life...and she does that from time to time...by grabbing my shoulder and pulling it back...yea I know it's weird but I know it's her too...

never actually seen- i don't believe that you can- only their effects, and speak to them on occaision

I have seen a few spirits/ghosts in my time but never thought much about them but as harmless entities.

I have seen many both alone and with other people. The 2 that come to mind first are below:

1) I was alone around the age of 14, it was a clear fall day on my families farm which I lived at the time. I was walking towards a trail head when the wind began to pick up sharply. I felt the urge to look into the massive Oak Tree at the start of the trail. I had walked this route many times and never had "feelings" before this time. As I looked into the tree, towards the top I saw a dark grey shadow in an oblong oval shape. I got the feeling I should say hi so I did. I said "Hello, is anyone there?" and repeated a second time. From the tree a very soft voice answered me back and simply said "Hello" for the next few weeks the shadow and I developed into friends of sorts and from our conversations I leanred that he and his brother had been in the Confederate Army during the war. His brother had been killed in that area and he felt responsible for his death and vowed to find his body. Which was what he was trying to do some 140 yrs later. I did some research and there had been several skirmishes in that area.

2) I was with my cousin and her boyfriend at Stones River Battle Ground, which was one of the most bloody battles of the War Between the States. My cousin and I had been there many times, and had gotten "strange" feelings there before. This time however was different.
I was 20, she was 21 and I forget how old her bf was. Anyway we started walking down a marked trail when the desire to go deeper came over us. As we took an animal trail deeper into the woods we started hearing twigs snapping and voices screaming "Get out!" we all 3 thought that it was just out imaginations getting the best of us until the voices got louder and we started to feel people grabbing our shoulders. The time that day was around 4:30pm, during the summer so the sun was still high in the sky, yet it was as if the sun had set and was nearing a time more like 8pm. We started walking faster when the trail ended and there was nothing but trees. The rest was more of the same until we found our way out and then everything stopped. However the by the end the experiances had become very intense and we felt a true fear for our lives.

That was 2 years ago and last month I learned that a friend of mine had a very similar experiance there, and caught it on tape.

Many times...not really sure how to explain any of them though. At night most often I would always see things in the house I grew up in. But even in the day time the place had a feeling like you where never alone. Down in the basement you always felt a really wicked hatred feeling on your back, I woke up to something watching me many times when I use to sleep down there. Always freaked me out...like a shadow of a man.

i personally have not, i've only heard things that couldn't be explained.
however my husband has. and since he has no love for joining websites i will tell his story.

once, when he was a teenager, living with his parents, he awoke late in the darkness, thirsty. he left his bed to take care of the problem and made it safely to the kitchen. however, on his way back to his room, there were several man-sized forms blocking his path. he believes these were some form of spirit creatures. he won't say they WERE ghosts but just that he believes they were SOMETHING. the forms just stood there. he unsure about what the correct course of action, so he closed his eyes and walked calmly to his bedroom
he never had another experience like that, although his cousin believes he saw something hanging around one of the closets

Just from reading what the others have written and going from my experience, I would have to agree with Minx. Most of these are during times of hardship of some type.

Having said that, if the body is going through something mentally or physically bad, does it make you more aware of things like spirits?

I didn't see any yet but I would love to have the experience of seeing one someday

I see them daily. The one I see most often is my main protector. He is around me all the time to the point if he is gone for more than say an hour I tend to get jumpy and worried lol. They are all around us and somehow I take great comfort in that.

i have seen one a couple tears ago,it was a face and it was red.it was looking right at me in my bedroom.i was freaked out at first,but i know it was real :)

The only real story that I can give you is in my journal.

I see spirits quite often, it's just part of the norm for me.

I believe i had, i lived in a haunted house when i was a child, and i believe i saw the ghost of the boy who was murdered there

i have one that hovers in my bedroom when i sleep... i feel she is a guardian...

I worked in a nursing home the night shift ive seen a ton of spirits... To many stories to tell tho and to long lol But most would be the dead comming to collect a loved one for the here after..

Yes. I have. Before I saw my grandfather's ghost, I had never believed in them.

To explain, my grandpa died when I was 12. After the funeral we are sitting in the livingroom with me, my mother, my aunt, my grandmother and my great grandmother. my grandmother notices all the lights in the house are on. She looks at me in my grandfathers chair and says i wish john allen would turn some of these lights out, and they all went out over the house except for the room we were in. i looked down and i was sitting on my grandpas lap and when i turned to look he was sitting there patting my head and smiling at me telling me he loved me and i was his little sunshine. everyone else saw him as well.

Two years later, I am taking care of my grandmother, she had the shingles, so I was staying with her while school was out for summer. I heard someone get up and turn the kitchen light on, start the coffee maker, smelt my grandpas cigars, and heard the front door open for someone to grab the morning paper. i got up, checked on my grandmother - who was still asleep - and my handicapped and mentally retarded uncle - he was still in his bed as well. I walked into the kitchen and there was my grandfather, sitting in HIS chair, with his coffee cup, his newspaper and a cigar at 4 am as he always did.

I grew up in a house with a ghost. My parents have always been very accepting of pararnormal activities so it never struck me as odd, until I got older and spoke to other people.

Ghosts are not there to harm you, do you should not fear them.

I saw a ghost on a bridge when i was younger but i have never really got close enough to make sure

in my house i am living in now there is a old guy that walks around

When i was a kid a freind of mine and I were walking down the tracks behind and old granite shed. Old tracks almost never used. We rounded the corner and saw a train, very suddenly. It spooked us and we ran back and jumped through a whole in the hedging. We looked back and nothing was there. I know it was there because we both saw it, but it wasnt one way or the other. Up on the tracks a bit further, there was tall grass that was bent over the tracks like it has been run over. We didnt go that way anymore. Two kids imagination? maybe, but it sure seemed real enough.

I have never seen a real ghost myself. My younger sister swears that she did see one back in September. She was at the Salt Lake City cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is a pretty smart girl so I would like to believe her but I was not there. I am not sure if she was drinking that night but I do assume she was.

I have never directly looked at one, but have seen them out of the corner of my eye.

I have not actually seen one, but I have seen orbs and have heard them talking to me. I also have a ghost presently that likes to move things around the house, and it is not just my stuff it moves but every bodies.

Mostly I have felt the presence of ghosts but I saw one only one time. It was at a house in Maine. I was upstairs and I looked in the window, that was on the second floor and I saw a reflection of a man standing behind me in the window but when I turned around he was gone. After that my hair was pulled at random times and things were thrown at me. I don't think he was happy that I was visiting there.

i've had faint images of ghost that only last only a second. not sure if they were ghost or just random blank spots in my mind

i have been seeing the ghost of my moms old cat around my house lately. i will see a flash of him running. or i will catch it out of the corner of my eye.

Nope, I can honestly say I've never seen a ghost.

I have seen Spirit Orbs many times and have captures some on film, which I will post below. In our old house I could always sense that there was someone else in the other part of the house, especailly when there would be cold to your bone spots in certain spots in that room.

When I was over my boyfriends I saw a ghost. A little girl, but she wasnt a poltergeist. She seemed sort of. . . lost. But she still scares me. For some reason, my boyfriends mom says we see her most in June..

I have seen two ghost figures on the second floor of my cousin's old house, and a pair of red eyes from a ghost on the main floor of the same house. The couple upstairs was very nice and didn't mind the "company" in their house. The one on the main floor, though, was a different story. He was always knocking things over and breaking stuff. None of them ever caused any physical harm to anyone. Carpe Noctem

yea. cheeply enough i got 1 i the basment...never moves...just sits there...i rush by it cause im scared...it only appears at night...i talk to it, but, i get a sudden shiver of cold and run away

I've never actually seen one with my own eyes, but I have felt weird chills and winds in the room for no apparent reason.

could it be they were trying to contact you?

Only when i was younger. NOw my children tell me about the people that walk through the walls. Must be a family thing.

I have seen several. The most notable was in a warehouse in South Florida. It was a full body spectre. Pretty eerie. But after I got used to "him" being there. It was no big deal. I would tell him good evening and good night and I had no more visions of him. Although I would hear footsteps upstairs, when I was alone, and I'd hear whispers in the warehouse. Hep when I was alone.

i saw one when i was a kid half human and hand skeliton.

I dont see ghosts but have a few friends that see them and communicate with them

Spirit orbs are often mistaken for moisture in the air. Orbs have a certain color and density. I have seen several in places that no moisture could be... not even dust particles. I've seen things I can't explain but have never investigated them.

when i was little girl.. i lived in Poughkeepsie at this time...
The story my mother told me...
That before we lived there.. a mother had her baby inthe bathtum.. and left the bathroom..
supposidly the baby had drowned..

and I would allways be int he basement playing with a little girl...
she was nice...
and one day my mom had come down to the basement and saw me playing with a ghost... she had yelled my name and told me to come upstair... she probally thought it was gonna hurt me...
after that i never saw her again....

I have never seen them in person but I have felt something when there was nothing there and I have seen photos some of them are very scary.

Oh the stories I can tell you...

As I a tourguide for the Haunted History Tours for New Orleans, I have had my share of adventures.

For instance, in the French Quarter, we have Jackson Square where stand the oldest and largest minor bisilicka of the catholic church. On either side of this church are two alleyways. Pirates Alley, and Pierre Antoines Alley.

Pirates Alley is respectively named for the 18th century pirates that used the alleyway for distribution of guns, gunpowder kegs, harlets, and other essentials back in the day. One night so the story goes, is that one or more assailants were chasing Jean Laffitte down this alleyway and into the Pierre Antoines Alley. There were shots fired from all sides, now bare in mind that Jean Laffitte made it out alive. The other(s) apparently did not.

The story goes, if you are in the alley on certain times of the middoay, you may bare witness to the shooting. Our stories say it was a clubbing, but none are too sure. Still, you may hear footfalls from either side of the alley as if the assailants are right behind you.

This leads me to my own adventure of the same story. As I was walking to work on evening, I took Pierre Antoines Alley. I greeted the security guard as usual, and after about a few feet from them, I started hearing sounds of running behind me. I thought to myself this could either be a child, or someone late for something, or this could be the ghost story. I took no heed to look behind me, as at this point in my life, I was quite used to such goings on.

After about halfway up the alley, I stopped at the last lightpost, which by then the footfalls were directly behind me, when they should have passed by now. Well, I turned around, apparently the footfalls slowly faded, away, the only thing behind me was the security guard reading their book.

I then told the story to my boss, which in turn chuckled and stated...Another story to add to the tour eh? Funny.

I have only seen them in my dreams..they usually come to me when I am most open to them and try to warn me of things.

i've never seen one and i think it would be crazy if i ever did but i do know of some places where people have seen ghost before

There is one occasionally around where I live, a couple of people, including myself, have felt it, but never been able to see it properly

I've seen one, my great-grandmother. She died when i was 3 yrs old, but i saw her clear as day on top of the stairs at my Grans old house when i was 6 yrs old. She was wearing a long white nightgown, her hair was down and long and she was smiling down at me. I saw her as clear as day.

I remember that experience like it happened yesterday.

I have actually seen one. My mother and I were driving home one night about 1100 pm and as we were rounding a slight curve we could see a lady crossing the street. She was in the right lane of the road. My mother got into the left lane so we would not hit her. As we were driving closer we were joking about why this woman would be out here this late at night in the middle of the road. As we passed her we both looked out at her and realized that we could see right thru her. She was wearing a white blouse and long blue skirt. As she walked she paid no attention to us. It was very eerie.

yes i have seen them...... i live with three of them and to tell you the storys would take years

I have seen things that have looked like ghosts, but i can not be for sure if they were real or just my imagination, once i seen a mist or a foggish haze float through my living room but it vanished as quick as it came, i am not saying that was a ghost but it was weird...

when dug the lake i live at they tore out an old native american resting place so it's not uncommon for me and my mom to see gost or a light mist on the hill but my dad don't see them or at least don't admit to it but i think he is lieing

I have a spirit in my house right now... He likes to play tricks on people by taking there things or making noises and he loves my lover's familiar (cat Syirra)

Once long ago I did see a ghost or something. I still lived at home and I fell asleep on the living room floor. And I woke up and I felt like someone was watching me, so I looked up and saw a guy sitting on the ottoman really pale looking, he had blond hair but he had a hood on but I could see a bit of his hair. I covered up my head and kept saying "Please go away" over and over and then I looked up again and he was gone. My mom and sis have had more experience with ghosts than I have.

Not a ghost necissarily, but I have seen spirits of those who have passed on. Some of people I didn't know

When I had my apartment with an best-friend of mine and his girlfriend, there was a spirit in there living with us. He was very powerful. He knew I wasn't a threat but he felt my roommates were. He would hide our keys, move things on us. He didn't like how we had the apartment.
He kept freaking out my roommates. It was basically a gloified crack house; blood stains on the floors, my room door locked from the outside in.
We did a sayonce and one of the spirits in my room wanted to badly harm some of the people in our place.

I am not one to believe in communication with the dead. I personally find it hard to believe that the restless would bother with those of the mortal coil. Particularly those that feign insight into that status of your wealth, love life, business, etc.

That being said:

I have had a few experiences with those that have passed. The most horrifying event was when I was around the age of 11 or 12 years old. My mother had purchased a house that was set back from the main road by at least a quarter of a mile. We were surrounded by woods, and had a nice creek that was behind the back yard. The night I experienced my "supernatural hauting" was as normal as any other night in the house had been. I had gone to the bathroom to brush my teeth for bed. After I finished rinsing my mouth out, I looked in the mirror and saw what appeared to be another face besides my own. It hovered, if you will, in the mirror over my face. I could still see my face, but this face was most certainly wanting attention. It was an old man's face, lined with age and, if I am correct, a most perceptible guile of downright evilness. The face started laughing, and I was terrified. I ran out of the bathroom screaming, the light in the bathroom as well as the lights in the hallway all dimmed, and the bathroom door slammed shut.

It wasn't until a few years later on a trip to the library that I looked up old clippings from newspapers about the house and discovered that an old man of about 76 years of age had killed himself in the bathroom after his wife passed away.

Another story of mine is from when I was a child.

When I was about three years old I used to play with a young girl spirit named Kiki. She would hang out in my room and when my toys would get put up she would take them back out. My mother told me once of a time when Kiki got upset at something and threw all of the dishes across the room.

I just was reminded of that when my mother brought it up earlier today.

i haven't seen a ghost yet where I work but they mess with me. So far they have moved stuff right after i put the stuff where it was supposed to go, they kept knocked my broom off my cart, they drain me of energy and just the other day they kept knocking stuff off my cart. The cart was sitting there and shit just kept falling off.

I've seen "corner of the eye" stuff quite often, gotten feelings of moving energies, heard things on e.v.p. The most memorable experience though, I was at an old graveyard on a ghost hunt when i was a little younger, a friend of mine brought a quija board. One of the spirits we spoke to that night told us to walk to a spot in the cemetary, we did, within a few moments a cold spot centered around us and the spirit of a woman manifested and peeked from behind a tombstone, She had dark shoulder length hair. She appeared youthful but not young, maybe mid twenties to early thirties, semi-transparent white but seemed to be solid at the same time. She looked at us for a moment and went back behind the tombstone and was gone.

Minx this is a good question because I too have wondered how many people really have seen a ghost/spirit or the like.

I have many times, alone and in the company of friends and family. Night isn't always the only time either. I have seen things like this during the day as well.

There are so many I don't know if I should start from the beginning when I was a child or the last time as an adult

One to share would have to be the time right after a horrible death hit home. After our family member was buried we all went to my Aunt's house to eat and share memories. Some of us were inside and some of us were outside hanging out in different groups. I was across the street from the house with my cousins, standing by his car. I had a strange feeling that came over me and I almost hesitated to look up because I knew I was going to see something. So I see this person we had just buried walking in the yard looking very disturbed as if something wasn't right. He proceeded to walk into the house and turned to look straight at me. He looked very lost and confused but what bothered me the most was the facial expression that something wasn't right. This was during the day.

Sorry I forgot to tell you if you would like to know the nature of this family member's death I will tell you in a message but I don't wish to share this with anyone else. Hope you understand.

Actually just recently...
My apartment is underground, but i do have little windows, so some light gets through. One nght i woke up and could hav sworn i saw a dark shadow looming over me.
Promptly, and shamefully, i cried out and hid under the covers. Later on in the evening, i woke up because i heard a tapping noice coming from my living room.
I looked up at my doorway and saw a light come on.
It was the lamp had sitting on my side table. The only thing is, the light bulb had burst about two days prior. The tapping continued and i stepped shakily out of my bed and walked into the living room. It slowed as i came into the doorway and stopped as i leant down to unplug the light.
It was weird....ive heard my name being called out by a little girl or young woman, and always feel someone watching me from the doorway of my room.

I don't think I've actually ever seen a ghost. Though I have felt and heard one. It was pretty scary just to feel it's presence and hear it without seeing it. I'd probably be more scared if I actually saw one.

Clix, When I read your post.. I had that Image in my head.. Poor Fellow must have been aware of the day, but not clear on Why. I got a chill come over me just now, I had the Image of What he might look like too.. With his fraught Looking facial expression. I hope he rests peacefully. He must have passed very suddenly.


And to see a Full Entity, right in front of you, during daylight hours must be something quite outstanding.

I have never seen any but mt 5 year old neice tells me all the time she sees here great grandma and that she is carrying a baby girl with her.

I have seen a few things that I cannot explain...but mostly i feeel or sence things

I have seen both ghosts and spirits. (Nope not the same thing) My daughter has a friend named Chad... Her and I have both seen him, but I am the only adult he will get near.... At first he wouldn't even be within 5 ft of me......

I have seen ghosts on many occasions. i feel i might be opened up to it, have been since childhood. one particular experience I was in philadelphia, still living at home. I always smelled pipe smoke. One night, i was on the computer, realy late chatting, and i smelled the smell stronger than ive ever smelled it. I glanced in the mirror to the right of me and i saw a man... in a black coat adn black fedora hat. i turned adn no one was there. it was nuts.

Here is something I saw in the clear of day but I don't know what it was

I was at my sister's house with the kids while she was at work. My niece had gone in to take a shower and I was in the living room watching the other kids playing a game. I was sitting on a chair where I could look down the hallway of the house. After a bit I saw my niece come out of the shower with a towel on her head and she looked back at me. Well I thought nothing of it.

Until....just a bit later I saw her come out again! With a towel on her head and looking at me again! I couldn't understand what I saw so I jumped to my feet and went in to her room after her. I asked her if she had just come out and she said yes. I asked her if she had come out just moments before and maybe forgot something and went back in to the bathroom and came back out. She said no I just finished my shower.

Many things have come to pass there in that house. Not good things either.

I like to consider them spirits , but to answer the question, yes, I have seen a few growing up, but the two that really sticks with me were loved ones that were close to me that passed on, the first was a friend that died, I was asleep when i felt a presence walk by my side of the bed and lean over my ear and say wake up and get up, I thought it was my husband at the time, but when I opened my eyes he was sound asleep and I saw a ball of light leave the room, the next morning i talked with my friends mom and she had the same thing happen to her, also I lost my dad in car wreck a little over a year ago, and since I have seen him several times.

Ive seen them and they dont worry me any

I have not seen o ghost materialize...just felt, heard and seen the imprint on my sheets..

i work in what used to be a hospital and the end where my office is used to be the morgue so there is definately activity there....i haven't seen them but i hear them especially when i work late

I had lived in a house that was built in 1900, the first night there while unpacking I looked to the doorway to see a man in jeans and flannel shirt standing there with a shot gun who turned and walked into the wall. Two weeks later we found an old family album in the basement and there was a picture of him in it. Turns out the house was built by his father and it had been in the same family till we purchased it.

I haven't seen one, no. Until I do I'll remain a skeptic. However... My dad took this picture my mom and my nephew last year and sitting behind them is.. well, my aunt that died a couple years ago. Really weird.

i was walking one night and there was this curve ahead and right around the curve was where this guy hung himself and before i got there i got goosebumps and every hair stood up my friends told me i was crazy nothing was there we startyed around the corner and i put this on my kids there was a figure of a guy staring at me i stood there for a min and then walked away

I have never actually "seen" a ghost, but what it wanted me to see, many years ago one "whip snapped" a pull chain connected to a light in the house that I lived in.

Once I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a shadow dancing across my door...I thought it was my parents but they were all asleep.
The Shadow wasn't corporial...it was like someone was standing in my door way and casting a shadow.....except my door was wide open and I was seeing absolutely no one....the shadow stayed there for a couple of seconds...then started flicker like a light and then it just vanished.
