It is well known that certain people, mainly teens and children going through puberty, are able to make things happen due to the chemicals mixing in their bodies. I don't know the full explanation of this, but I'm sure most understand what I am talking about (and if anyone does know exactly what this is, please post it!).
I have noticed that there are many threads on hauntings and things of that nature, and I know it is of great interest in the VR community... so what I want to know is who believes things that 'go bump in the night' are of the paranormal nature or if it is the power of the nervous and/or erratic mind?

I've said before... I think it mostly boils down to what the individual wants to believe...

I believe...
..people believe what they want to believe.
I hear noises in my house.. even often bizarre ones, I find a logical common explaination.
If I were so inclinded, I might conclude my house has spirits. I don't necessarily buy into that, therefore I tend to believe there is probably some rational explaination...
...and if I don't find a fire or someone breaking into my house, I put the fire extinguisher away and go back to sleep.
Most of the things that have gone bump in the night - well, my night - have turned out to have rational sources. There have been a few that have baffled me.
I'm certainly open to the possibility that there is more out there than I can understand. In fact, it's often a very appealing and romantic notion. I'm not hanging my hat on it, though.
i can see both sides of the fense, obviously its credible to say that alot of times when someone thinks there is someting supernatural at work it is the workings of imagination fueled by movies or books. but then again, we are talkin about reality as i see it anyways.
i know that as a youth i worked myself up on many occasions where i thought something was happening and was most likely my mind at work.
however, i also know that not all my experiences were my imagination.
i would like to tell you a little something about my experiences if i may, just one specific encounter...
when i was about 4 i lived in a suburb of chicago and used to play at my granmothers house. i would play in the basement alone mostly and my grandmother would hear me talking to someone and ask who i was talkin to. i would tell her the man in the basement. at the time she just figured it was my imagination as she only heard one voice and i was 4 years old after all.
a few months later, i was upstairs watching the television with my grandmother and the pwoer went out during a storm. we BOTH saw a man walk thru the hallway from the bathroom to the bedrooms, she freaked out and ran into the bedroom to find it empty. she half to herself said something about who the hell was he, and i replied the man from the basement. later that afternoon, my grandmother told her neighbor about it and described the man, and the neighbor freaked out and told her the description was of the man who lived in the house before her and had committed suicide in that house.
if that was my imagination, then i guess i am able to project it to others, but then how did i know what the man looked like in reality?
sorry if i offended anyone with the length of this and i didnt mean to come across as stealing this post. in short, i do believe things happen outside the imagination
spirits, in the area... i dont feel that children make things of thisnartue happen.. they would be t oscared of it...
For me I believe that the bump in the night comes from the nervous and/or erratic mind as you put it. For the simple fact there is/are many chemical reactions within the brain.
birra is correct.
people see what they want to see, ive been saying that for years.
it is apart of the human psyche. We are predictable beings.
I believe the human brain is a powerfull thing. If you want to believe in something enough then your brain will make it seem more real than what it is.
I believe it may be hard to separate the two. Many times things go bump in the night and are explained away, but I do believe spirit can play a role. For many people it is their imagination, but for many of us here we are aware of more heightened senses and gifts we are developing.
Some people see and hear what others do not. The sounds, sights, touching, and other sensorary 'INPUT" is all perceived and processed through the brain. The brain does not seperate real from not real, only that there is a stimulus. Our social conditioning acts as a filter, accepting only that which has been learned as "real". Other data is rejected before we become aware of it. Those persons that have rejected, for whatever reason, the social programming filters are able to process stimulus differently. These are the "psychics", wytches, vampyres and others. Adolescents, especially prepubescent ones, have not completed the programming process and process stimulus almost unfiltered. They are often the catalyst which causes older persons to experience paranormal incidents, especially the poltergeist ones.
I personally believe that some are natural things like, chemicals, puberty etc... but some just can't be explained.. and are the paranormal.
I believe it is a good mix of both out there and it is just a matter of judgment on what it really is.
I believe in both. Well...all three if you count that some things have rational reasons. I mean I have 2 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. There are lots of bumps in the night!
I've seen things happen due to someone focusing their thougts and I've seen spirts walking the halls of Eastern State Hospital when I worked there (one of the oldest mental hospitals in the country). So I think that it depends on the situation and that one or all three factors could come into play.

Freaknomad - I think your post deserves attention and a response...
It's a great story - length understood, hard to sum that up in a short post. A lot of people claim to have experiences like that.. again, I'm not saying that it is outside of the realm of possibility, but for the vast majority of "bumps in the night" there is a logical, rational, non-supernatural explaination.
However, if one is more inclined to believe the supernatural causes the bumps, that rational cause goes out the window and a ghost did it.
Great story though, thanks for sharing that.
Ok yes I believe in it...My parent's at one point when I was going thru puberty thought I brought a poltergiest into are home, as weird thing's starting happening. So yes I believe ....
yes it happens many times that the mind can give you hallucinations based on how u believe in something, i think many ghosts people see come from their own mind, have u ever been around a mentally disturbed person who has hallucinations and also hears voices? well its a scary thing, but i also believe there is a spiritual realm and not all ghosts and supernatural beings are creations of your mind, i have saw a few strange things in my days and i am usually a skeptic about these things but i am not anymore
It depends on what you beleive in but also its sometimes out fo your controle if its your mind or thr turth, if you already can sens things and see or feel them, then when they dont ahppen you get more nervous and your mind can create them around you regardless if you want it or n ot, its just you are already program to sens so therefore you sens even when its not there.

It has been said by many that small children can see and hear things that most adults can not. The theory on the reason why that is, is due to they do not know better. Society has not taught them that those things do not exsist. As an adult I can see and hear things still. Mind you I am not irrational, and I will hunt for a rational solution for a noise before jumping to conclusions, but I have learned that there is not always that solution. My daughter is 3 years old and she has come to me many times telling me of different people who talk to her. Most parents would shrug that off as imaginary friends, but I investigate it first. It has been to my finding that in every case there has been a person that I also can see. Now my husband an not always see them, but sometimes he has.
One night my daughter came crying to us (she is a major empath) and said her friend's feelings had been hurt. I went into her bedroom and there on the edge of her bed sat a little boy that couldnt have been more then 5, he was very skinny and sickly looking... made me think of an abused child. So I went back into my room where my daughter and husband were and began asking her questions... I asked her if her friend was a boy or girl, and she said a boy... I asked her if she knew his name and she said Chad. She said that Chad told her he was afraid of big people because they were mean to him. He came to our doorway a few times and just stared at me and everytime he did my daughter would totally zone out and cry... it was as if she were seeing his life or perhaps just feeling his emotions. Now most would say I am crazy but I began speaking to the little boy, and I told him that not all adults were mean, and he watched how my husband and I loved our daughter. He is still lingering about my apartment, but he is not so shy of me any longer. That is but one example. I believe very strongly of spirits, and can remember being just like my daughter at her age. I still to this day have them speak to me and through me, and I know there are many in the world that are skeptic of this, but I know what happens to me and my daughter, and it doesnt bother me when someone doesnt believe me. I think that perhaps the theory on children and society not tampering with their brains at that age may have some fact to it. Perhaps if a person is never led to believe that spirit activity (I dont say paranormal often as it is not abnormal for me any longer) is not possible, then the entirety of their life they are able to see and communicate.... or maybe it is just that some people are born with a triat of some sort. I honestly cant give an answer to that simply because I myself dont have one. I can only speak for myself by saying my entire life has been day after day of paranormal (as it is put) activities, and now I see it in my child. I dont know if this post helps with an answer to the question, but I felt that I should add it. :)
I believe that children are more open to paranormal activity because they have not been tainted by adulthood.
I agree with darkangelgina, kids are not burdened with bills, jobs. My neighbor's little 5 year old came over one day. I have a gobe that when shook it has gold snow coming down, and the sun lights up, she said look it's magic, kids see the magic in life, we as adults have forgotten, my 4 year old nephew stands by the bed where his grandfather passed over in, and constantly talks to the air. He states he is speaking to his grandfather.

Scientific evidence shows the human brain goes through two major periods of development... one during infancy and adolescence, one during and in the years following puberty.
Perhaps we should give consideration to the idea that children and teens, during these periods are simply more sensitive to different stimuli and more open to possibilities... regardless if they interpret the information they receive correctly or not.
I know that poltergeists were said to be more common when a teenager was in the house. That was then linked to the development of the brain and a teenagers alleged requirement to break things: a telekinetic ability developed and ran out of control at a subconscious level.
This created a huge debate as scientists who studied the mind side of parapsychology (see other thread) were instantly at odds with the ghost hunter side.
As birra pointed out, theres a third explanation for that bump in the night - it could be something as innocent as a mouse knocking something over.
Until science proves which one (or ones) account for the disturbance, its up to the individual.
There is a theory that poltergiest activity has been attributed to females in puberty and again women going thru menopause.Due to the flucuation in hormone and energy levels.
Things flying around the room, basically prankish type of activity.Of course it's all in what one chooses to believe.
i believe that if someone wants to believe in something enough thier brain will make it real.
i believe there is paranormal ativities i have seen things that i cant even explain.... but yes children do sometimes have wild imagenations.... we have seen some weired things go on in our house all of us including my teenagers.... and on some ocassions when this has happened and i and my youngest for instance together saw my sons beedroom door open up... this is a door that sticks and even i have problems opening and closeing it........but after words then she said the rocking chair was hovering.... ok i dont even belive that one.... but when they see something that freaks them out i think they tend to get the imagenation going and they end up scaring them selves even more.......i do belive it can be caused from certain chemicals in the brain being released when afraid of something that can cause you to imagen something else....
Both...I believe one can scare themselves so bad that they can make things happen..
We live in a hundred year old house and a few times I have felt a kind of pat on the shoulder and once a nudge. It was not freighting, it gave me a strange sense of comfort and reassurance.
As a child I had many "unexplained" things happen to me. But nothing since I was like 13yrs old. I think maybe it was all in my head. I do believe that there can be hauntings and even possesions but I think many of the things children experience can be attributed to thier mind taking over and projecting their fears.
I think that the psychokinesis thing is a subconscious effect. The teenager or whoever is making things happen that are buried deep inside them
I'm sorry I've forgotten who said something like if you want it to happen badly enough, your mind can make it happen
They're right, of course, but in the poltergeist thing they don't want it to happen - if they did, it wouldn't frighten them and - if they got too scared their conscious mind would be able to stop it
I believe it to be both a source of the person and something else entirely.
I think it can go either way. Sometimes it is actual paranormal activity, other times it is "poltergeists" caused by mental energies.
I believe it is truely super natural. For two nights now me and my friends have gone outside and hung out in the field behind the motel we live in. Every night we hear something. The first time it was just foot steps then my friend got poked by something long and hard. WE got freaked out and stood in the field after checking. there had been nothing. The next night my firend heard whisteling coming from the bushes. He went over and suddenly there was a really loud hiss. Even one of my friends who was about 50 feet away heard it. He saw movement and everything but nothing was there. We couldn't find a damn thing. So I say super natural.

Next time you go out into the woods, if you hear banjos and someone squealing like a pig... RUN!
I see the power of the mind as something else entirely. I haven't witnessed anyone able to "do things" with their mind - beyond convince themselves that they see something.
The mind is very powerful. If one believes something strongly enough, one's perception of the world - our paradigm - our filters if you will, will adapt to filter and censor what we see. Frequently this can make us believe that we see and experience things that are not empirically "real" - yet they are very real to the observer.
I believe that there are things that one can not explain so yes I believe that there are things out there I have yet to see or experience but know they are there!
it depends on a lot of different things but yes i believe that ghosts and paranormal occurrences actually exist outside of the human mind, especially if its not only yourself experiencing it.
There with us all the time, we have alot further to go after this life, and whos gonna lead the way/memonch666
Very powerful thread Fortunatefool.
I find DamienA's and Cursedtodakness' posts to be very enlightening.
In some places its been documented that children coming to puberty have been reported to make things move and what not but, like someone said previously its all in what you believe. As for myself I believe there are ghost and many things do go bump in the night.
I believe in both. I think it's possible that some "hauntings" could be the effect of a strong mind, but I do believe that a good majority are actual spirits.
thank you andaluz...
Now I suppose I'll answer my own thread.
Yes, I do believe that children can make things happen, and that there are indeed hauntings everywhere at any given time, but I consider anything of that nature to be supernatural or paranormal. If it wasn't meant to happen, it wouldn't. Everything happens for a reason do teach us something new, or to give us a new hope or belief in an idea we've shut out of our lives.
Possibly surprising post for me if people are familiar with my postings on other threads. I had a personal experience that shakes my natural cynicism and doubts.
I know that's not convincing to most and I'm good with that since this site is replete with personal experiences that fail to sway me. I guess that's the nature of the "personal" part of the experience.
Suffice it to say, that I would look for any possible explanation other than the one I currently hold, which is... I think there is definitely something beyond this life: energy or whatever you like to call it. I just can't come up with any other explanation for what I experienced.
There is a belief that children going through puberty are more prone to 'unintentional psychokinesis'. I think this has to do with the fact that in more measurable ways, children are less in control of a lot of things as they go through puberty (emotions, changes in their body, tastes, interests, etc).
The mind is powerful but I tend to think of how powerful the mind is at convincing us what we want to believe. As an example, I believe pendulum scrying is a good start.
The principle of pendulum scrying is to hold an object from a string over a symbol that denotes a compass form (north east south west...or up down left right). If you select up/down for yes and right/left for no (or some similar setup) you can ask yourself simple questions and receive interesting and sometimes impressively accurate results. The underlying principle being that your muscles can respond to your brain and make the tiniest of movements that even you can't see happening but the pendulum exaggerates those movements to a visible conclusion. Many will simply think they've tapped into a personal ouiji board.
My point is that how you look at a situation can be powerfully reinforced by what you think are your own observations. Your brain will seek to support what you want to believe.
I think that both cases can happen. There are times when paranormal activity can be traced back to a teenager but then there are times where there is no teenager or children involved. I watch this tv show called "Ghost Hunters" on scifi channel. They go in to disprove a haunting. When something happens, they try to recreate it and if it can, then they dismiss it. They put cameras all over the house and then they walk through in twos. They do not put much credit and faith in personal experiences because they are hard to prove. Sometimes, they catch something on video tape. When something is caught on video tape or recordings and no one is in the room or house, there might really be something paranormal going on.
And it certainly does work in the reverse. Wanting to disprove the paranormal in favor ANY other "rational" explanation is also an agenda that can self-fulfill. I'm guilty of it and hate when something shakes me up and I can't explain it. But it does spice life up a bit and that's always welcome.
Cool.
My reflexs are pretty good also.
The only real psychic stuff i have done is precognition. Although there was one day i got pissed off in class, when i looked at the light on the ceiling, in flickered then popped. My friend say it happen. He was quite shocked :P
The mind is incredibly powerful in ways that we have yet to discover. It is my belief that everything/everyone can be boiled down to energy, with out bodies an electrical system that can channel the energy into sometimes unheard of results.
When I hear things going "Bump in the night" I first think of the logical reason. Trust me at times my mind and eyes have played tricks with me when I get spooked. Dont get me wrong I do beleive there is more out there and beleive in some supernatural pressences. I come to this thought becuawe there have been some things that even I cant explain.
A persons mind is very powerful I think in most cases people make the selfs believe things but at the same time there are instances when energy forces do attemp to make them selfs know for reasons that are unknown at first
Maybe there is nothing going bump in the night. If our mind is so strong im sure it could easily make us think there is something there when in reality there is not. We all assume when we hear an odd noise that there must be someone there! I once used an ouji board by myself, and when i went to sleep last night, i could have sworn i heard the glass slide across the table. Maybe i thought that, because it was the last thing i wanted to hear!
As far as the young people being able to do things with thier minds due to chemical combinations, I believe that falls under kinesis. These are the kinesis that I know of. Here's all of the types of kinesis that I've heard of:
Aerokinesis(air)
Atmokinesis(weather)
Audiokinesis(sound)
Biokinesis(body)
Chronokinesis(time)
Cryokinesis(ice)
Electrokinesis(electricity)
Geokinesis(earth)
Gyrokinesis(gravitational fields)
Hydrokinesis(water)
Magnokinesis(magnetic fields)
Photokinesis(light)
Pyrokinesis(fire)
Telekinesis(objects)
Vitakinesis(healing)
There are people who are blessed with these gifts, and could quite possibly manifest things given thier mental/physical state.
It's all a question of belief.
But, yes, I believe in spirits. I've seen them.
There are many things in the universe that cannot be explained away by science or rational thought. While there are people who suffer from mental illnesses, that cause them to hallicunate, I believe there are ghosts and there have been actual hauntings.
I also believe in the power of the mind. If an individual is strong-minded enough and wants to see something, I believe they can will themselves do or see anything.
The Rosicrucian Society has an interesting test in their early monographs that can help show an example of something that seems repeatable but is still unexplainable (at least by science). They have their own belief on the human mind as an antennae but the experiment is interesting no matter your belief.
The next time you are in a waiting room, class room, waiting in line, etc. Focus on one person at a time that is currently NOT looking at you. Concentrate on them turning around and looking at you (making eye contact). Just keep thinking to yourself that you want them to make eye contact with you. Keep track of the percentage of people that look vs. those that don't. I'd say that you should only give yourself about 30 seconds to a minute per person to rule out coincidence. I've always been surprised by the results but have no explanation for them.
I would have to say that it’s both. At least with my case, while I first starting going threw all those great chemical changes I first started having issues with what the doctors refer to as hallucinations. There were plenty of times in which I knew that there was nothing there, yet I was still seeing it in plain view. I saw my grandmother after she died and these were considered those hallucinations. I’m still not sure if I believe that it was because I had taken her death so poorly; she died without much warning and I hadn’t seen her for awhile, or if it was actually ghost and whatnot. But I do believe that there are things that go bump in the night even if I haven’t seen them.
The base I work on has a cottage with a lighthouse attached. The building was built back in the 1300s and has been renovated several times since this. Well, this particular lighthouse and cottage were focused on in a Discovery Channel special for being haunted. I find this very amusing because this whole rumor started by individuals that work on base playing tricks on the cottage guests.
At points we have put two-way radios in locked closets and made noises on them throughout the night. We also go in the cottage and turn the statues that are in the windows around so that instead of facing the water they are facing inward. Little things like that set people into a frenzy. It is hilarious.
Anyway, I do believe in the supernatural and that the existance of ghosts is possible; however, before blaming something on the supernatural I would think things out first and try to explain it rationally.
I actually think it's a little of both. I've seen things I cannot explain, and then later it makes me wonder, did I really see it, or was it a trick of the mind? Did I scare myself into seeing something? it really depends on alot of things.
I think it is both as well.
I read about a case in Mexico where a restaurant hired a young waiter, and shortly after he was imployed things started to happen, such a wine bottles exploding, sinks floating, inventory was crashed etc, and this happened even when there were customers.
After a while, the manager suspected the young waiter for causing this so he decided to let him go, the waiter devestately told that this was the third job he was let go off, and no sooner had he left when it all stopped.
Spirits walk the earth, I belive this because I see, so actual hauntings are real, but maybe a bit more rare than often stated.
A good example is an MTV program called FEAR. The plot is simple, gather 6 different younger people, take them to an unspecified haunted location and let them investigate. When they arrive they meet eachother for the first time, they are completely isolated and takes assignments from a computer. Each time they go on an assignment it is alone, and they are told a story about a death, murder etc that took place and it is broken to them in very colourful phrases.
I doubt that most the locations they use are actually haunted, but when given a grusome story and then is asked to sit in the darkness silently makes the mind fabricate most of the spooky stuff.
i think u can pick any place and any person and tell them a story about a ghost or something and the mind will make them see the ghost
I believe in proving something is true by proving that there is no way it cant be wrong....
I haven't seen a spirit but i have smelled hairspray in a specific area of my house....where my husband's sister use to primp for her dates.....she died in the house 11 years ago
Then I have the ghost cat....that curls up behind your legs at night....
it could be the power of suggestion...but i didn't know about either of these instances until i yelled at my dog, thinking it was her behind my legs...and i mentioned the hairspray to my husband.
I know when i use to go to the local cementry everyday I know I saw spirits especally at night
I actually just watched a really cool episode of Supernatural that touched on this subject. The episode was called "Hell House" and it was all about how the spirit had been created through the focused concentration of millions of people reading about it on a web site. It was really cool how they did it. If anyone gets a chance to see it, I highly recommend it. :)
Most "bumps" that are heard can be explained as natural noises,,I.E house settling, cat/dog running into something or knocking something off a counter or shelf, even wind. I personally have never seen a ghost or spirit, and i am in no way saying they dont exist, but I have yet heard anything in my house that would remotley be considered un-natural.
I believe that is can be from many different sorces. Alot of them have normal explanations... others can be the chemical things.. and yet.. there are some things that have no other explanations.
i believe we can make things happen if we really want them to ,the magic is out there we just have to tap into it. it happens to us all sometimes even if we dont realise it.
ok how about this? one person lives in a house which is haunted. they sell the house not telling the buyer about occurrences. the buyer, after living there a short period of time (with no teens), stands in the kitching watching the gas stove turn on all 4 burners by "themselves"... other things happen so they get ready to move.. the day of the move, the previous owner shows up at the house and says.."it was the kitchen, wasnt it" True story. Happened to my sister and her husband. He is a scientist and didnt believe any of the things she said were happening till HE was the one standing in the kitchen. more to the story but this has taken up enough space.
I believe that there are things, as you said, that "go bump in the night" as I myself have experienced things of the paranormal nature outside of rituals I hold.
I BELIEVE THAT SOME ARE THINGS PEOPLE MAKE HAPPEN OTHERS MAY BE SPIRITS. EVERYONE HAS HIS OR HER OWN OPINION ON SUCH THINGS. BUT IF THINGS GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT I FIGURE WHY NOT BUMP BACK?!
i am not sure that we can "bumb back." i dont think you can truly kill spirits/hauntings/ghosts. there is the belief that hauntings tend to come from a traumatic experience/death and that is why there are still present even after their death.
the catholic church does exorcism to remove evil spirits, but i am not sure that qualifies as being the sole winner. i doubt that the haunting spirit/enery/ghost was enjoying the time they were trapped between planes...
sorry, I was being a tad bit sarcastic there. In hauntings, I think you should leave well enough alone. unless, as in my sisters case, either do something like exorcism or just get outta there
I believe that it can be both because it is true that adolicants have a tendency to make things occur but this isn't always the case..
I most definitely agree with CuRsEdToDaRkNeSs. My children, when young were able to "see" things, spirits and such. The mind and soul of a child is closer to innocence, closer to birth. It is clean, not tainted by the tribulations of life. They are pure. People shrug off invisible friends as the imagination, and ignore the child. This is what taints a child, and turns them into a bitter adult. That is a crime. I've raised 4 children and we share our"sightings, dreams, and precognitions" to this day. My children are healthy open minded adults! They all will be better with their children because of this. Innocence is closer to god, if you will, or the spirit, or essence of life. Some adults retain this and also are "sensitive" to spirits and such. I also believe in telekineses, which uses parts of the brain and are unexplained. And as someone else said ,we only use 10% of our brain. It's uncharted territory! Wouldn't it be a bummer if everything had a scientific answer? What about people who's palms bleed? Can anyone explain that? Mass hysteria, I think not!
I think that children and animals are less desensitized and are able to connect with things that most people are not able to connect with. But, I am not sure that they can actually make something happen.
I think that most of the time there are rational explanations for the bumps in the night, but I also know that the mind is a powerfull thing and it can sometimes play tricks on you. People see things that aren't really there... or are they? Once when I was 10, my grandmother who was suffering from Alzheimers, was in the middle of a major breakdown screaming that her daddy (long dead) was coming to whip us for playing in the make up and was pointing down the hall. For a split second, when i looked up, there he was, black and white, and big as life, straight out of the picture on the kitchen window sill. He was striding purposefully toward us swinging a leather strap. Goosebumps all over my body-let me tell you! So, who knows???
Well of course I agree that people see what they want to see, and also that human beigns do not have true control over our own minds, we have a tendancy to fbricate... so it's probably a good thing we only use 10% of them.
The penial gland is between both hemispheres and i often ascocated with the "third eye" (which is the sixth chakra I believe) and I actually read something once that the penial gland produces small amounts of light, and this is an unexplained phenomena... why would light be a attribute to the brains functioninsg? This would probably provide a link between puberty and an uncontrollable ESP... although I don't know where I stand on whether I believe this or not.
I believe that it's both! Sometimes supernatural & sometimes the person! I think all my life weird things have happened around me. As a teen my mom being very religious went thru each room saying a prayer to cleanse the house, cause she thought evil spirits were around. Weird things would happen. The older I got the more I started to realize & notice things, I was mad, upset, my emotions were high things would happen! Yet still I have seen things I can't explain. So I still believe sometimes it is supernatual. I have seen a ghost/entity, but only once.
Echo - The Pineal Gland is also divided into two small hemispheres so it's not really between them but part of them.
Melatonin reduces sexual potency and is thought that the larger glands in children is responsible for holding back sexual activity until puberty. Either way, if the choice is psychic abilities through Melatonin but only with impotence...I'll say thank you but no thank you. :)
I believe that it could be a combination of several things changes the child is going through... mind playing tricks or it could be paranormal experiences.....
But i have been told many times that Children and Animals can see more than an adult..... Pure of heart.
As had been said before, some people will immediately jump to a paranormal conclusion while others will search for a logical reason.
Personal I believe in spirits but also in tricks of the mind.
Also, in reference to the young being pure, people say that it is only their imaginations but I believe we need to consider the fact that sometimes before they are old enough to imagine things, they seem aware of 'something' that their elders cannot see.
I believe any thing can happen. There are times I'll hear my 3 yr old having a conversation with some one , when no one else is there. she'll even argue with it . you would have to be there . yes i do believe!
I believe
basically it is a known fact by just about everyone that things that lay beyond our realm can become apart of it.
The only reason we doubt it is because it is unexplainable.
The day we invent technology that can help us to understand better will be the day there will no longer be doubt.
Although there shouldn't be doubt any way
I believe that most of the time it is your imagination running away with you when your home alone or after you watched a horror movie or whatever.
But there is things that go bump in the night and it can be that as well. Until you investigate what your hearing or seeing you never really know.
Well it is a fine line there. You can have one person who see's a ghosts persay and it could be real or it could be just their mind playing tricks but on another note you could have let say 10 people in a room and they all see the same ghost at the same time. I think the chance that this is their mind playing tricks is slim to non. There was a study done a while back from science and it says that the when a person see's and orb or vortex or a ghost it is their mind sending energy into the earth and receiving it back. I fine that hard to believe because Like I said earlier withing a group of people I dont think they all at the same time is sending energy into the earth and recieving it back.
Two people can experience the exact same event. One will claim it's supernatural, the other will say there is a reasonable scientific explanation (blaming on nerves, wind, etc.) So it's all relative to the person. I believe in the things that go bump in the night. Science can't expain everything.
well the way i see things and the way someone else see things are diffrent. i guess i really boils down to weather or not you believe your house is haunted. if you believe enough then i think you will see things in a whole new way
There's a few people that are rather careless with the term 'known fact' with regard to the supernatural. The supernatural almost by definition could not be or really have a "known fact".
Also, if one thinks that science has done studies that reached conclusions on 'energy' creating visions, I'd love to see it. It would do a lot to put to rest hundreds of supernatural questions that are still in the air because 'energy' hasn't been scientifically proven yet. I find it hard to believe as well.
Jayce - Two people can have two explanations for the same event but fact and truth would dictate that only one of them is right. The other is just mistaken. Opinion doesn't trump reality...whether that reality is supernatural or scientific.
