I know that some one posted some thing like this not that long ago, so sorry for sounding repetitive.

I think my pets are psy-vamps. When ever I'm feeling they mirror. Is this just the way animals are or are they a bit psy-vamp?

I would be grateful for your opinion on the matter. As well as your own stories on your own pets. Thanks

There is a huge differance between a psi-vamp and empathy...Pets do not drain an individual, more like that fo giving and individual the comfort relaxing feeling. Just to know your pet is there.

Psi-vamps drain you, making you irritated, depressed, emotionally, physically and spiritually drained.

Pets if anything give energy. The nurture with what society calls unconditional love. As they are based companions. But far from psi-vamp.

I think that pets can naturally sense our feelings. I don't believe it has anything to do with any extraordinary powers, just a natural instict that they are born with.

Cats by their very nature are lazy critters, so I don't think they 'take' energy.

Certain breeds of dog ( red setter ) are known for having boundless enegy so would'nt need more.

No, think as someone has mentioned they can certaily show empathy though.

Pets tend to be empathic and can sense your feelings.. it's also possible they view us as their pets with them being the master... We are there to feed and play with them. They want us to feel good so we can serve them better.

And no, cats aren't by nature lazy, they just live on different schedules involving napping. They don't sleep 8 hrs in one go like we do.

Animals, especially your pets can sense your moods. Tiger always knows when I'm sad, or angry, or happy. I know dogs can usual tell when someone is anger or a threat because they'll stay away or fight if necessary. I think it's really cool that they seem to sense emotion.

I agree with Dixie. I believe that pets can tell our emotions and they respond to them. As far as them being vamps, I would be a bit worried if they could be because of the fact that they love on us so much.

Aside from the empathy, animals are very aware of ethereal beings as well, and supernatural beings. Which is why they sometimes bark or hiss at something that is not there, or chase the same.

If animals such as our pets were psi-vamp...Wouldn't they act odd around other animals? I do not know about you, but dogs and cats get along just fine in my opinion. Same with many other animals.

in Animal Planet, i saw once a woman that said that all our pets are kinda telepaths, so they can know the way we feel ... we don't need to talk, they know it by our thoughts...

and i notice with my cats that they are close to me when i'm sad...

Ditto with Soulshroude, I don't believe you can ascribe an animal with the label "psi-vamp" or anything similar. Animals by nature are better attuned to the small nuances of their owners and their surroundings. They can definitely be empathic. That does not constitute psychic vampirism.

Almost all animals will react to how their owner feels, i mean usually if their owner is not feeling good pets will usually mope around and if their owner is happy the animal is usually happy to, i think they can just tell what their owners are feeling...

I don't think they are vamps at all. I just think since thy can't talk to us, all they have had to learn and pay attention to is our actions. Then they simply act accordingly.
For example of my 5 dogs, the one I have had the longest hides when I am not(not at him), comes up to me and puts his paws on my collar bone and stares into my eyes when I am sad and knows when I have shoes on we are going out somewhere and he gets on his belly and army crawls.
He knows my actions....

However I do know animals have been able to predict when their mommy is pregnant.

I think our pets are well tuned to our emotions, for their sences are increased over humans. And as the wise tale says they take the breath of infants does not hold up to me. but pets as enrgy feeders why not we feed of others emotions why cannot our pets, but as any other vamp hollywood again came up with scenerio.

I think that pets in general are very good energy readers. they sense things that most ppl dont. Whether or not that makes them psy's i dont think so. Maybe. Im not saying its not possible, but most animals have that extra sense anyway. they are born with it. So you can definately consider the animal a vamp if u wanted to but i dont think personally that its the case.

I don't think that pets are psy-vamps, but I don't rule out the possibility either....

The love of my pet life, Killer, is a wonderful cat. I feel him and I have a connection that some people lack with their pets. He mimicks my moods also... One day in particular I had received some bad news about my g-ma. I had come home for lunch and on the way home I had been crying. When I got there Killer came to greet me like he always does but he stopped short that day... I went and sat on the couch. when he approched me he was soft and gentle, he almost looked sad too. anyway to make a long story short I left and went back to work after the day was over he put me to sleep and I felt ten times better in the morning... maybe he is a psy....

Heh.. and that doesn't cheer you up???

What's wrong with you? It's PLAY TIME!!!!

Actually, animals in generally are a lot more in tune to nature than we are. They're hearing and sense of smell are usually far more accute than that of humans'.

If your dog barks at nothing, odds are he didn't just see a ghost, he probably heard something outside that you didn't and he's giving a warning that this is his territory.

If your cat stares at the TV, it's not watching for ghosts, their eyesight is more sensitive to the flashing images and they get easily distracted by it.

Like all the animals that headed for the hills a good 30-60 minutes before the Asian tsunami hit, while al lthe dumb humans continued sunbathing wondering why the water got so far away so quickly...

Animals aren't psy-vamps, they just rely on their basic instincts where humans have to think things out too much sometimes.

Apart from pet bats ...

Animals do sense a lot more than humans do. They can detect changes in who-know-what to know when you need cheering up or staying away from. This doesn't male them a vampire

They do get 'something' out of all the emotion that people pour on them, but they don't seem to need that 'something' to survive ... so I guess pets can't really be vampires

The reference to pet bats is a joke btw - it is illegal to keep most bats in captivity, most bats are endangered species and live really short, sickly and troubled lives if kept cooped up - so lets not even go there :)

My pets are very receptive to my moods and the moods of others that are here or visiting. My pets pick up on my feeling, my sound, and my voice. There have been several times that my cat will be sitting on my girl friend's lap, and when I start coming down the hall of our apartment complex, she will jump up and go wait by the door for me to walk in. I come home at different times everyday and they change from week to week as well. How does she know when I am coming down the hall? Nobody really knows for sure. Kami also knows when I need her to be cute and cuddly and when I need my space and don't want to be touched or bothered. it is kind of wierd at how receptive they are to their owner's feelings and emotions. Dogs have been trained to sense when a person is about to have a seizure. They can notice the change when an owner dies. They seem to interpret mood changes. I think there is a lot we could learn from the so-called "dumb animals."

Science says they don't think or reason. Maybe, but they sense what is going on, especially with their human partners. Have you ever noticed how when you become angry and take it out on your dog, it isn't held against you, it isn't taken personally, in fact they became more intent on pleasing. The question has been raised as to the reality of love. I think dumb animals come closest of all to defining it.

My cat would be able to tell I was getting sick days before I actually did (he would start doing his own kitty version of nursing me, over cuddling etc) He also knew when I was feeling down and would come comfort me the best a kitty can.

I think it's just the way of animals, Not anything to do with being a vamp of any kind.

artemka, you are right, a lot of science does show that they do. But it is all in the interpretation. The popular scientific theory is that they react but don't think. I disagree. I believe the feel. The feel pain or fear, therefore they feel love or hate. Maybe not on the same level as humans, but then I have known humans that seemed impervious to true emotion too.

Animals as a rule can sense , more then humans can in the first place, to assume they are , or can be , "vampires" , is a comiedic assumption at best. Maybe , those that "think " this way , just have a connection with their pets that most do not. Everyone sees the world differently. Each animal HAS a personality , like a human , some are not social butterflies, some are . Like in any relationship, if two souls happen to meet and become connected, they become inseperatable. If say someone just picks animal without that connection , they can be a drain , some precieving this as being vampish, otherwise they have one hell of an active imagination!

I feel that animals in general just have that animalistic sense in that that they can feel things even in us humans such as our feelings we all put out some kind of vibe no matter what the mood we are in.

As stated in many other responses before this, animals are empathic to our emotions and moods. It's not just pets or domestic animals.

I had a raccoon that responded to my emotions while he was still wild. It has also happened with deer, a possum, and some other animals towards me.

They reflect what we put out or act upon it. Most wild animals decide whether to attack, flee, or stick away because of how we react to them.

Animals don't have to be owned to be able to read people. They can read fear or evil, they can fear pain or joy. But the problem with people is that they try to give human qualities to animals the same way they tried to apply civilized traits to be those who didn't understand civilization. A maneater is still a maneater, no matter how sensitive you are to it's "feelings." We may be intelligent but they are the true pure beings. We have become controlled, they still live by instinct.

Pets are natural empaths I think, but as for vampires...I dunno. I have heard of pets biting and lapping up the blood, but I don't think it's a particularly vampiric trait, more the fact that they're usually omnivores and it's a natural instinct for them.

I believe all aniamals are more "in tune" with the chi of others. Their senses are more heightened than ours because they don't rely on their senses in the same hierarchy we do. We too, have the ability to sense when something s off, unfortunately, we more often than not ignore it.

All animals can sense many different feelings through our body language, town of voice, and the way we react with them. Some are more perceptive than others so it is understandable that you would consider them somewhat psy- capable.

The word ANIMAL comes from the Latin, ANIMA, which means life principle, breath, air, soul, living being. Recognition of the spiritual essence of animals and respecting them as fellow intelligent beings is vital to facilitate interspecies telepathic exchange. Animals are able to communicate with humans who are open to the telepathic connection. They get your intentions, emotions, images, or thoughts behind the words, even if the words themselves aren't totally understood. I have communicated with animals all my life......

Animals respond to body language and the vibes that a person puts off. They can read YOU better because you are closer to them and you dont hide or mask your emotions.

For example if you had a stranger come to your house you animal will respond with it's own body language letting you know how he/she feels about that person.

Same thing in the wild kingdom - how differant animals react to each other as us humans react with each other.

This thread made me react the same way this time as it did the first time, both putting a smile on my face.
This ones funny guys.
If it is an opinion or believe you're looking for,I guess I'll vote no.For alot of reasons really.
With the exception of the blood lapping Bats and other parasistc creatures found in the animal kingdom,or some animal not yet found by Cryptozoologists...I say no.
A dolphin can tell if one is pregnant with their Sonar.Nothing "weird " there.
Animals sense storms before they catch the scent of ozone and water because they are sensitive to changes in the barometric pressure.Nothing weird there either.
I do not understand how those abilities would put them in the running for vampireism.

I agree, your moods and emotions cause you to emit variuos scents that the critters can smell and relate to your mood.

They also spend a lot of time observing you and listening to you, so they "know" your mood because they have been a part of you for a long time (in there lives at least).

I believe that my grandmothers cat is actually a form of vamp.

I believe that beacuse my grandmothers cat is showing an unnatural interest for TV.

It is sitting infront of the televison, watching it with some unnatural concentration never seen before exibited by cats, and after it has finished its session, it starts to behave very hiperactive, running around all over the house, like no place can suit her any more.

Now I am positivly sure that the cat is somehow vamping of the screen, but I am not sure is it vamping of the ppl shown on the TV, or is it simply sucking in the energie radiation emmited by the TV screen.

I am sure as well, beacuse the cats whiskers really spread in a strange way, like antenas gathering some energie waves.

And there is this ever reccuring issue of hiperactivitie after the TV watching session is over.

My grandmother finds this to be very unusual, and is keeping an eye on that cat, in case she can catch more strange simptoms behavior.

I highly doubt your pets are psy vamps. I mean if any thing they would be empaths, it's not like they are feeding off of your energy is it? It makes more sense to call them empaths because I myself have known them to be able to pick up on emotions and even mirror what their owner is feeling, but maybe it is just some type of concern because they can sense that their owner isn't feeling well or something like that...but I would think that it would make more since to call them empaths not psy vamps.

My puppies are empaths. As for absorbing energy, I think they try to absorb the pain. Their body heat helps. My dog sat by foot after surgery. He knew I was hurting and he tried to make it feel better in his own way.

I think that as pets they truely love you and would do anything to make you happy even if you yell at them for getting in to the trash and the shy way from you cause they know your mad the second you say their name they are there all happy again because you said their name. Its their job to make you happy and show you unconditional love. I dont think it has anything to do with psy vamp its just them loveing you.
