Do you believe in destiny, that you're walking down a certain road and have relatively no controll over where it takes you? Or do you think that we all choose and make up out own destiny as we go along, more like the roots of a tree than a winding road?
I think everyone has a destiny. Though someone might think something is their destiny and it isn't. To believe that my life is already predetermined isnt such a wild idea.
About 7 years ago i was in high school and i wanted to learn a trade, I want to learn about puters. There was no room in the class, so i choose auto. I completed the course and was best in my class. After i graduated I did a lot of stuff, but noting auto related, though i always felt this kind of pull to cars and i always want to pop the hood and all that. Now im going back to school to become certified. I believe I was destined to become an Automotive Technician. I also believe I was destined to kill off most of the worlds population, but thats a story for another time.
I believe in the power of my Inner Self, and by that I mean the subconscious, and I like being able to tap into that power (its one of the reasons I am learning the Tarot, as I believe that this can help me strengthen my bond with my Inner Self.)
I think that destiny is the hunger of the soul for something that it doesn't already posess, and trying to find a way to get it within our environment.
Care to explain i what context, evilduck?
do you believe in determinism (that all is set out for us in an unstoppable chain of events, due to the chain of events that was before us) or for some other reason?
If destiny is real, and you believe in this, then do you still believe in mans own autonomy, and to what extent?
i beleive in destiny, life has a path... we just have to take the right approach to that path, and that is what makes it good or bad...
i think that we all set our own path i mean really ......
Thats what Im trying to say, so would you say that destiny as its often seen, could be a sence of eliviated responsibility from our own inner selves?
yes I believe in destiny, however we are given choices in our life and we do tend to curve our destiny as we make our choices..
i believe in destiny. i believe everything we do is done for a reason
...and what reason does that stem from? A divinity that has the divine right to decide wat each should do, or our own subconscious wiches, so something else entirely.
Goodness, it looks like its my destiny not to get people talking to eachother in threads.
i believe in destiny and i believe that if something is going to happen then let it happen but let it come to u don't try to find it cause it won't be the same as it is supposed to if it would come to u
But surely, if destiny is just that, then even if you try to look for it, then it will be your deatiny to look for it, right?
I do not believe we are powerless over our future, but my belief in reincarnation leads me to the idea that we must have some sort of purpose or ultimate lesson we must learn. So I suppose I believe we choose the path, but we are expected to arrive to at a certain predestined conclusion eventually.
we are all on a designated path but we can choose thw twists and turns of it
Here is a little story from my journal, enjoy.
There is an ancient Persian story about a very rich man who lived in Isfahan. One day as he was walking to the well in the morning, he saw
Death, who looked very surprised. The rich man shouted out for fear and then commanded his servants to saddle up the camels. They travelled for all day and all night and finally reached Baghdad by midday.
The man relaxed and decided to go to the marketplace and buy some fine food. As he turned the corner he met Death again, who told him : "Ah, there you are, I was astonished to see you in Isfahan, because my instructions were to call you this afternoon on the marketplace of Baghdad".
So what do you think - can we flee Faith?
Ah , this is the thread ... :)
No . Life is Work , Luck and Will . But destiny is a nice romantic concept to keep in mind :)
I believe there may be such a thing as fate, that one is fated to end at such a time.
How we get there, however, is up to us.
My $0.02.
lol...I've seen that story before, it was funny.
I think our actions now will affect what will happen in the future.
Yes, and to some, our past-present-future has already happened! We are here just for the experiences.
And no, i'm not going to try to figure that out. It will hurt way too much. :)
i believe destiny is just like dreaming and wishing... a waste of time. so no i dont beleive in destiny
My Destiny is my own ready to mend for myself at anytime. although i also believe in Divine INtervention. because you just never know @_@...
I absolutely believe in destiny, but I think on the way, we do make some of our own choices that aren't neccessarily pre-ordained, and on occasion,my change destiny's path.
I believe in destiny.Because whenever I tried to escape from a decision it happened again in the future.
Then sometimes it depends on what decision we make and then there is the destiny for it.For example there are two choices and whichever you choose there's a path for it.
Also I believe that life is mathematical cause the things that happen or we do in the past,we have to face them again in the future.Am not talking about the result or consequencies,(which always there are for every decision we make)but that the same situations we have to face them again, not exactly like the past but similar.
Also if there is re-incarnation,I believe it happens cause we had an untimed death or that we didn't reach our goals,so we have another chance to complete our destiny.
Why look for something that is suppossed to come to u that is what destiny is right? it is suppossed to come to o not u go to it
ok, so most people believe in destiny in some way.
but, do you think if you decide the path you are walking isnt the one you want to walk any longer that you can change it to your liking?
Say if you feel lady fate is telling you to become a doctor but you want to be a pathologist, so similar and yet so different, do you think you could duck fate and do as you wish?
i do believe that things happen for some reason but there are also just coincidences
I personally dont believe in destiny, and I've seen too many ppl use it as an excuse not to work for something. Along the lines of 'If I'm meant to have it, it'll fall into my lap, so I dont have to do anything"
very true, i think that if destiny is real its something you have to work for.
Everyone has a destiny to be great and happy, but you have to work to get it, otherwiase you end up sitting on the curb halfway to the hotel.
I believe that we can only control our destiny but one in a while luck comes along and makes some of our wishes come true...
I believe life is like a multiple choice test.. you choose a it takes you here where another question is asked you choose b it takes you over here so yes and no.. destiny is in the choices we make
i believe that there is a path that we are on and the rest is guidelines that we have to fill in as we go along.
I believe that everything happens for a reason. I think all our lives are already mapped out for us, there is no such thing as coincedences.
since i alived things which i alived i believe in destiny...totally...
Destiny,I do believe we are all walking a path to something, and that along the way we croos others paths causing rippling effects in everything
i think we all choose where we go and where we dont go
in a way we can choose but i think we are being led in a dircection destined to end up at
I have a conflict with that cuz on one hand I hate to think that I cant controle my life but on the other hand I dont like to think my destany is in my hands I wouldint mund a littel help along the way you know a slightly bettin path to follow I think some things hapen for a reson but over all we controle our own destany
I believe in destiny yes but I don't believe that it controls what we do. I think certain things are set up for us in our lives but I think it allows us to choose the road that will lead us to it. If things are preset for us and we don't have a choice, then how can our choices be considered good or bad? How can we be accused of not making the right choice if it is predetermined. I think that is BS. I don't know what else to say about this so I am just going to leave it alone. I hope this made some sense! It did in my head! LOL
I refuse to believe that I have no control over my life. If I didn't, then what would be the point in living?
I will give the one piece of evidence that will confirm desiny to some extent,
We Will All DIE One Day
is that not a pre-ordainded thing, hehehehe
i will sum up my take on the subject with one word though,......Quantum
:: thrashes about in a fittfull sleep ::
Alright, ALRIGHT! You win!! I'll say it....
DESTINY, DESTINY... NO ESCAPING THAT FOR ME!!! DESTINY, DESTINY... NO ESCAPING THAT FOR ME!!!
I believe in pre-destined paths through life which are chosen by our spirit/souls between existence in mortal shells...does that count?
I think that if there is a destiny, a pre-ordained path, then it just likes to screw things up and mess with you.
Things happen for a reason, but we are helpless to stop them.
We try to change our path, and get blocked by something else.
It sucks.
ok then, do you think if you aviod destiny that it comes back to kick you in the ass, say youre supposed to go to your dieing grandparents but you choose to go to a club instead, and at the club your drink is spiked and a whole number of bad things happen.
i believe destiny like you said has many paths...we do choose which path we go...but ultimately we wind up exactly where fate and destiny wants us to be...every path ive chose in my life thus far has been told to me in my dreams, nightmares, whatever you call them..i call them previews of our lifes to be
I think destiny is based on free will... that whatever road we choose the outcomes are already set for us unless we choose another road and then it changes those outcomes... so on and so fourth... so in a way we have control but then again no... yes we can tap into outside powers but i believe that it will only help us choose the better road with the better outcome....
I don't really like the idea of not having control of my life, it takes all the fun out of it. I like to think that what I do is what I choose to do and no one has a say in it. All though being able to blame someone for my mistakes would make life easier but I'll just take the blame I guess.. so here goes ......it was me, I took the last cookie ... lol
I belive we all have a destiny, but it depends on if we chose to follow it, I've broken away from mine many times, just to see what lays on the other path, I think it might be better to use this saying though, follow your heart and it will take you where you need to be, damn I am being so cliche'.
i think we all make up our own destiny....unless we do nothing about ne thing...and thats stupid....
I believe that its 'destined' that 90% of the people on this thread will either say yes or no, without explaining themselves.
Destiny, is something that different ppl believe in, or not. Their choice. I for one do believe in that there must be a higher purpose for all us (Destiny), but it is prone for life itself to throw some really awsome curve balls, but like ppl say "That's life". It's when ppl actually believe that they have reached their destiny they can say "Fuck, i done good".
Amythe, next time something good happens, Im going to say just that :-)
I totally believe in destiny and that we have no choice of were our life ends though we can change subtle details about it such as how we walk and how we do things but we always will walk or go to our predetermined area in life. I mostly believe this , because of how I met Raven, no other way coudl explain how we met but destiny, i do not believe in coincidence, everything happens for a reason.
Life around you isn't very predictable. However, I make the best of what I've got. I do not believe that every step of the way is already chosen for me.
I know I can change something if it's not right for me. I rely on choices that I make myself. Hmm...maybe some of us have a "calling" in life and know from the moment you could think in abstract terms what you wanted and how those around you help you pursue that one goal...you could possibly say that's destiny. Anyways, that's just me.
I don't believe in destiny as a strict path from which we cannot deviate. Rather, I believe that life consists of a "pool" of possible events. The paths we choose and decisions we make in between affect where we end up and which possible events we experience or don't experience. It is similar to what Cadamia said.
I believe that most people have a calling, but that it's not written in stone that you'll end up doing so. For example, that middle-aged cashier at your local grocery store could be a fantastic musician who made choices that caused him to miss his calling. Those weren't necessarily wrong choices, they just caused him to not be in the right place at the right time, thereby not experiencing the events leading to his possible destiny.
But that's just what I think.
quite a few of you see a difference in fate and destiny, as do i, but at thenend of the day do you think you can be under the influence of both and come out in one place or do you think you can only follow one to reach the end?
Destiny is a major part of my life. It's how I met my loved one. I absolutly believe that destiny is real. It's what others would call a 'miracle,' but in this 'reality,' it really is destiny.
Absolutely. There are no coincidences, only misunderstood significances.
to elaborate on my defnition, i also thing you can stray from your path by certain choices you make but you are still moving in the same direction to certain destinations, and you cannot change those destinations, even though you think you have choice in your life it is really a minor choice that does nothing to affect that destination.
yes, i believe in destiny. there are many paths in which we walk upon, each one has ffork in the road, it is here where we alone make a choice. weather taht chose is destiny or no, i dont know, but, mayhap i am not ment to know. each fork in each path will hold a destiny. then that path will come to another fork and that path also hold destiny. and so it continues. but we should never know weather it is our souls that are in control or, that the fates are playing what cards of destiny seem fit.
sycronicity makes me a bit wearey; so,
I don`t beleive in destiny.
if u beleive in it your crazy cause i dont and never will and yuo shouldnt erther
It was inevitable that someone would ask this question
nope, not at all, destiny is wat no hopers make up to give them the false hope their lives are going somewhere. My choices are my own
wow i cant believe how long this thread has become!
so most of you believe in destiny, for those wo dont, is there a reason or can you just no see the logic, and if so do you elieve in tarot or horoscopes? because surely they feed off one another?
i to believe in myself... maybe it the whole thing with not believeing in what you cant see
I think when we are born we have a predetermined destiney but because we are individuals and there are other people in the world, not just us, our destiny changes based on the actions we take in life.
i belive we have a destany but we have the choise weather or not to follow thw road. i know the goddess has a plain for me,
after hours of meditating i fell a sleep and i had a vision. i know what my destiny is
I believe we are in controll to an extent and we do what we want to do with that ...
I believe tht we are controled by something tht we cannot stop which will lead us in a certain direction for all of our lives
it may.... like u fell like u need to flow the rest but insead u take ur own place thats ur destiny..and yes i do
I don't believe in destiny. I'm in control of my life.
well everyone has their own oppions of destiny so that is cool and i can't disrespect noone for their oppions so cool to everyone
no because i dont like the idear that every thing have already been set down for me.... i like to think i have power over my onw life... make and picking the way i want ....
I believe that everyone has a destiny, but that it is a flexible one.
I mean you can make your own decisions, but then the path you have chosen has a set outcome, and it is like a big circle. Make a decision, deal with the outcome, then make another decision based on that outcme, and so on.
I definitly don't believe in destiny.. I make my own choices and on what the outcome of my life will be.. I follow my own path and ways.
I believe that all the reading and research and exploration into vampirism I did as I was growing up meant my destiny was to be involved in vampirism to some degree or the other-but I believe we make that oursevles
I believe that everything that happens, happens for a reason... as simple as that.
I do believe in destiny to a bit, but I also believe we make our own paths.. so I'm 50/50
we choose our own paths nbut people do mix up destiny and fate, destiny being it had to happen and fate being luck on a spiritual basis
I believe that there are many forms of destiny and our free will leads us to the path of preselected outcomes
i my self half and half i beleve we make most of or destany but some of it is ore determined no matter what we do
Dont worry about it... if it exists, then we can't do anything but wait. If it isn't real, then that waiting could be wasting your life.
Go live. Whichever way it turns out, you will have had a life.
I was very tired on that last post and it was a little confusing. Let me explain it a simpler way. I believe that our story has already been written, but our actions, negative or positive, decide which chapters we experience or don't experience. Karma factors heavily in this.
Sorry for the long post before, I tend to ramble when I get tired.
I agree with echo, as far as dealing with it's existence. As far as "does" it exist, I don't think it exist for everyone. Some have a destiny, some don't. Some are more awake than others, some just wander through life. I am sure that the fates weave a life tapestry for some, but I doubt they care about the drones of mediocrity.
i believe that you choose what do to in life to a certain extent then destiny kicks in
I believe in destiny, but I think sometimes we have choices. I read tarot cards and the future seems to be fluid a great deal of the time. This can be annoying to me when I'm trying to divine my own future. Other times, the future is set in stone. I saw this once when the cards predicted literal death (the only time they have meant a literal physical death). Vampirism might even be a part of destiny, although we can't say it's a religion or spiritual path. There are others in the community who I haven't met in person but we have a psychic connection.
I don't... I believe there is definetly a "Fate"-like thing out there that points us where it wants us to go... but we make our own decisions we are totally in control o our own lives
Destiny huh? Well, its there, it brings us to roads in our lives, to big situations which we choose to follow what road.
In life we choose where we go and what we do, Destiny only urges you to certian out comes.
- Sin
Don´t know I mean if it happends it happends but if it´s alredy constructed that way I can´t belive. This was a tuff one:/
im sorry but it was destined for me to say this... blah blah blah
I think it's 50-50. I believe that we all are born with Karma issues to solve, and the rest is what we make of it. It's pretty much like having a certain potential, and how we overcome the obstacles with the "weappons" we are born with. But I strongly believe that we are all born with a mission.
Personally i don't have to believe in destiny, i "know" so belief is not an issue, but we can shape and pattern our existence.........most all things can be changed, on some level or another, but it all becomes a matter of the laws of energy, and some things require more to change the groove that we are in.........some things are a near impossibility for the energy cost it would require, there is no such true thing as energy dept......so it would be a "yes" as a matter of speaking i supose.......we are all to perish some day....and some would say that is destiny..................
i don't believe in destiny or fate. i think that everybody forms their own path in life and make their own decisions on what to do and what not to do.
I dont believe in much these days... but i do know that the decisions that we make to send us in directions on our path...
I believe that it is you who make the decision on where the road takes you but destiny that makes you choose that way.
I believe in destiny to a point. I believe like a few others on here, that there are several paths for us to take, but our destiny lies in which path we take, so ultimately we make our own destiny.
sometimes i believe in it and sometimes i dont....guess it depends on my mood and what has happened to me lately
I believe happens for a reason...weither you would call that destiny or some other form.
I believe we make our own decisions, but where ever we end up has already been predeterminded. You can choose your journey, just not your destination.
Ok the whole destiny thing maybe everyone has one or it, but the time i ever got to think of how to discrib it was 000.000.....so yea i belive people can acticeate their destiny by what they do and what "roads" they take.
i think in our own ways we choose how our future goes.we dont really know exactly what will come out of an important decision until it happens.sometime you could make a mistake and have it turn out for the best.thats like making life decisions isnt it?
i believe you decide some things and others you have no control over.
Perhaps it's more that we have a destiny, but the path we take to that destiny is for us to choose.
I don't believe in destiny... The idea of our life having one course I'm not to fond of. I do believe that we make choices which affect our lives.
But as far as a predetermined fate, I don't think it's true. As for something that seems like fate, I think is just by random chance.
wow so there are a lot of people who have great thoughts on destiny and no destiny, unfortunatly for everyone i am going to share whut i think. so i believe that everything happens for a reason weither you see it yet or not and whut you do determains one of tha destinys choosen for you to follow. say if you choose to do something that later turned out to not be so good for you than you have choosen that destiny. i dont know i really cant explain it. basicly if you choose a way to live your life than you have choosen your destiny. they go together.
I think we ourselves, create our own destiny. It's all a matter of building up to what you want most in life.
i believe in destiny, everything happens for a reason to teach us lessons in life, i believe our whole life is mapped out 4 us
I don't know...I'm kind of half and half on this one. I believe there are certain things in our lives that are destined to occur such as meeting a close friend or going to a certain school, etc. But I believe the rest is up to us.
yes I do I believe in it to a certain extent though.I believe that we control what happens with minor things but now what majorly happens to us in life.
I cannot say that I do, honestly. I think we make our own destiny.
i do belive in destiny but i dont belive its fixed. we are drawn to a path but it is we who choose which way it twists and turns and yes some is ordanied but we choose the ending
maybe it's more a matter of not if we have destiny, but how we arrive at it;s conclusion
Destiny as in someone else picking out path and endpint in life. I don't think so. We, I believe, have now, a set of circumstanses - call it opportunity or free agency, and from that we make choices, and sct on them. We choose our course, and or not mere puppets on a string.
Everything happens for a reason,,if u wanna call that destiny then yes
hmm this is hard for me kinda, I do believe me meeting my wife was destiny but I also believe we have the choice in life to make things happen and to change things.
When I was young I thought I was carving my own path through life. I laughed at the idea of destiny.
Now I have odd moments where I'll do something new, and realize all the things I've learnned seem to have lead up to be being able to do it.
I tell myself I am reading to much into life so I can still believe in my own free will. I shape my future damnit!
(That's my 1.8 cents, after taxes.)
:-)
yes i believe in destiny...why not??? everything does happen for a reason
I don't. That would limit me. If there was predestination, I wouldn't be responsible for what happened with my life.
I think people only believe in thinks that are profitable for them.
I. e. many kids praise satan instead of god only because satanism is a kind of escape from prudish, 'good' world where so many things are prohibited, a world limiting them.
And again, many christians I know are christians only because they hope to go to heaven. Pitiful.
Destiny is what you make of it...yet again...if you were meant to go sown a certain road...you will...if you were meant to eat at a certain place at a certain...it was meant o be
no, I believe the choices you make determine your destiny, only logical.
But if the choices you make change your life than there's no destiny...
Destiny would mean things were 'just meant to be' that way and nothing can change it.
no. what ever you are going to do in life has been writen down a long time ago
There are Planners and Free Spirits......those who either really make there own path one way or another!
I beleave in destiny strongly, yes its true god gave everyone free will but no matter there is choices in life and everyone no matter what they decide they ARE following their destiny.
Also Billy Joe Armstrong beleaves in destiny and hes the coolest so bow to him lol joking but heres a quote from my favorite song of his "I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone"
He is of course using a metaphor saying this road is his destiny.

i believe very strongly in destiny but people can choose what path they live or follow. me i have a path that i follow but its well to something that i want.
I do I believe everything that happens to us or every person we meet is something that was a grand plan kind of thing. So yes I do believe in destiny.
I do beleive that we are all born with a certain path..several infact...and that we all know what path we will take...but veiw ever tap into this and when they do...they refer to themselves as phsycic(sp)

Don't listen to me, i'm insane
i completely believe in destiny or fate. how my fiancee and i got together was complete fate. its too long of a story to tell bc there are so many details and situations. there is no way that all of that is coincidence.
I dont know.. If things happen are because they are suppose to happen.. Can we change our destiny.. only if we knew what could happen next.. is it possible.. i dont know
I use to believe in destiny and fate. Now I believe that there are outside influences that can influence our lives. However, we are on a journey and and we make choices very step of the way. I believe that we can write things off as destiny or fate but that washes away our acknowledgement of making choices. Not making a choice and leaving a quandry up to fate is avoidence.
Just my thoughts.
~Lady~
Ever wondered that if you have two choices and which ever one you take, you'll still end up in the same situation?
Cause I think that in a way destiny is there wethear it is for helping us or as an obstacle. But don't believe in destiny in that way that everything is planned.I couldn't make it any clearer so hope I was understandable.
i never used to i guess
but somthing happend and well im not sure now
I believe in it, however I think some people never find what it is becuase we choose to take other paths. if that makes any sense
Alright, my thought pattern on this is a little odd...
I believe in destiny in the same way I believe in the newspapers version of my zodiac sign... sure they'll be some things that I can manipulate so it fits me... that's why it's so vauge!
I think destiny, fate, is laid out on several roads... and though we may choose the road we take, there'll be some things that won't change...
The imagie in the mirror changes with each breath... so does our fate... (hehehe, sorry, told you my idea was an odd one... )
that was good
i couldnt put that in my words
tho i kinda believe that
I believe in destiny, but i also at the same time think that what ull make as far as decisions are pre-determined, but at times u can mess up with a decision u were supposed to make, i think that we all have destinys but at times we can mold them a bit to our own liking
i dont believe in it. i believe that its more like the roots of a tree than a winding road. we make up our destiny as we go
well being wiccan... no. It's a general fact that we don't believe indestiny as wiccans. However I do believe that things happen for a reason!
Destiny controls a lot of waht we do. We may not think it does, but secrectly it influences us.
I use to, but a couple of people have changed that view for me. -CITN- S.S.
I believe destiny will get you there, but what happens next is up to you.
i believe in my gut instinct where it takes me and where i feel comfortable is this destiny i will find out in the end i guess just sorry i cant come back to let use know
Ok I am not going to go too far into this because this subject matter can be relatively debating but I believe that destiny is what we make of it.
We as a race decide what our destiny will be. Our inner voice, our subconcious, something most dont exactly have a connection with, is who/what decides what will happen to us tomorrow, next year, or in 20 years.
Its how strongly we believe.
It depends in what context.
If we're talking about predetermination, then no. I am an atheist, and the idea that there is a greater being or purpose, and we are only playing out our parts is something I don't believe in. Even if I was a theist, I wouldn't, no; COULDN'T, accept that I had no free will, that I had no choice, or say in the matter.
In my eyes, if you are religious in any way and you believe in destiny, all the setbacks we encounter or things that only serve to destroy our will, are only there as sick proof that there is a greater being at work against us.
I believe that you can shape your own destiny, insomuchas you are capable of taking choices every second of every day. In doing so, it is possible to predict the possible outcomes. This, unfortunately, never being certain.
If there is a greater destiny, then that would mean there is more to one person than there is to another, which would effectively destroy any concept of ambition and drive. This points out the infalibility of communism. Every person is equal, or of equal potential and capabilities. Sure, we all excel at different things, but as people, pure and simple, we are all the same. We are of the same value.
Anyway, long story short, no, I don't believe in destiny, determinism, predetermination, predestination, or anything that insinuates we don't hold our own fate in our hands.
Everyone has control over their own lives. On that one path we tread there are many roads to take. It is where you go that determines your "destiny"
The only thing I believe is destiny is the point of your death.
As in there is no avoiding it, thats why I live most of my life 1 day at a time :)
yes i do, but thier r paths that we can also choose from wich of course is free will to some degree
I can't help but believe in destiny. Though there are times when I wish I felt more control of it, I can find no other explanation for certain events and people in my life. Turn left and go down one path, turn right and go down the other...at some point, they must surely intersect, and there awaits my destiny.
Sorry.... the *falibility* of communism.
Hmm, I wish it would work, but.. there are too many selfish people, and don't look to the USSR, they were never communist, they were pseudo-communist (extreme Socialist).
Well, that's enough from me.
Alright, this %^@#$&^$ forum gave me a nightmare! :-(( not that the question isn't good, but now I gotta tell you what happened....
I dreamt that I was staring at the Earth from a LONG distance away (think the size of a small full moon)...
The Earth suddenly split up into millions of earths, they were in a huge circle... some of them were practly overlapping, some were'nt touching any...
I think each one represented a choice and a different path you can take...
I believe in destiny, that there is some fate that people have but that sometimes you can persuade things to go otherwise and that certain instincts can keep you from making bad decisions... But I believe a certain course should be taken.... Wether that choice is of free will or destiny is your decision.
yes i do i also beleave in the unverise so what they will to our lives and i beleave that what we think is best for us is not what the universe nows is best for us so in a way u should be and injoy the ride3 that life takes u
zilverscale I do agree. as a great man once said, "we are all sentanced to death the day we are born."
i think that we are not powerless over our future i think we all have a choice abotu wut happens to us! but at some point i do belive in destiny cause i feel that everything happins 4 a reason..but u are the cause!
It absolutly infuriates me to even THINK that all I am is a... chess piece, on the board of some higher being.
I need to believe that my choices are my own. That I have a say in where I go and why.
rubbing the side splits on the tail, with the lips puckered
i believe that your destiny is what you make it sort of one of those you ream what you sow type concepts...you destine yourself to your own happy or other ending...
i think it real cause i think me and my gf are ment to be togather
I believe in fate...and maybe destiny is part of that equations
I believe in fate...and maybe destiny is part of that equations
yes. i believe in destiny. everyone has a destiny in which there lives will lead!
Anything is possible. And I would say yes I personally do.
Hell NO!A fucking nonsense it is.Ppl have the right setting up their own ways. The choice is theirs
u know i have a change aof heart i do beleave in distany an dit took alot someone has just comeinto my life and set my straght so ta speek
I believe everyone has a destiny, and i believe that we alone can change it.
damn i am surprised they havan't close this one yet .. wow..
um yes i do belive in destiny....
i dont belive that our destiny is set in stone, i belive that our decisions make our destiny
i do believe in destiny. i also believe that we can change it because destiny may come in more than one form. it's kinda like those R.L. Stine books, the ones that tell you that you can choose your own story/ ending. the endings have already been decided, you just have to choose one.
yes I do belive in destinany but a person can change their destinany to some extent
only thing you are destined to do is die there a but you can be meant to do something. That doesnt mean that you will just if you dont the alternative wont be pleasnt like being swallowed by a whale
Absolutely, some things are just destined to happen and it’s always great when it’s a good thing.
I feel as though I have already lived this life once, and that occassionally I catch glimpses of the future because it is really already my past. So I guess I am destined to relive what I already set forth the first time around....
ileyn: You're right about that. Nietzche called it eternal recurrence.
saint: You're wrong about everything I've seen you say so far. Free will and an omnipotent god are mutually exclusive. The truth of that matter is that we are ignorant of the entire plan, and the illusion of free will is as good as free will actually existing.
some ur own and some destiny. i think that there r some things u do r not ur own. well i dont even really know how to put it so ill give an real life example. my bf and me. i would have never talk to him or anyone of his friends. i always said i wouldnt b with anyone like that. but one day i just had this werid feeling we i didnt even notice i walk up and talked to him and when i did it just felt right. u might now understand but im happy it happened. lil things like that happened to me all the time and its good things. but somethimes its not there and im on my own. i donno what else to say to
...BLAH...
i believe things happen for a reason, i believe that the guy i met and fell in love with was fate

i believe things happen for a reason, i believe that the guy i met and fell in love with was fate
I believe that life is a complicated map, there are multitudes of choices to be made and one that what we were designed for, we make the choice to either follow that road or to go our own way........
i dont believe that my destination is already layed out for me, i control my destiny.
its strange because it seems like sometimes i do and sometimes i dont...
i believe in destiny
and fate
coz how eles can u explain seeing the same person that u dont normaly see much 5 times in 2 days
lol
i call that fate
I think our paths are predestined with infinite possibilities, or forks in the roads. We all have the free will to choose which direction to go. Most of the time we can only see a little way down the paths, thus making the choise difficult. I also believe the paths are not straight by any means, and cross eachother many times. This gives us the chance to make different, and hopefully better, choises when certain oppratunities ,stand befor us again. I hope I articulated that well.
Where I live I've noticed that some people just use the exsuse of destiny as a blame to their mistakes.
I would say again yes am annoying you again, that it would also be things we can't change,no matter how much we fight for the,for the example the situation I am in.
i believe we all have a path set out for us
that our destiny isnt what we will do but what we are supposed to do.we still decide our own fate
Someone told me once that destiny isn't a path, it's a tree... we each represent a branch of the tree and we're supposed to grow to a certain spot.. but we don't always and when we don't, we might take someone else's spot... so changing our own destiny changes anyone elses you happen to cross paths with..
des•ti•ny
n. pl. des•ti•nies
1. The inevitable or necessary fate to which a particular person or thing is destined; one's lot.
2. A predetermined course of events considered as something beyond human power or control.
In my opinion … i think people here in their comments and or opinions confuse destiny with fate, or even think they are one in the same…
This is what I think …
fate
1.
a. The supposed force, principle, or power that predetermines events.
b. The inevitable events predestined by this force.
2. A final result or consequence; an outcome.
Destiny is pre determined …. Where as fate u can change …. Example … if it is ur destiny to rule the world …. It will happen … how u rule it is determined by the choices u make throughout ur life …whether u will rule it malevolent or benevolent is up to all the choices and consequences thereof, that u have made thoughout ur life.
or i could be wrong ...
in my belief, the final outcome is already determined and it is the choices we make that make the road to what it is that is in our future either hard or easy. We get the chance through reincarnation to go back and learn the lessons that we were suppose to that we didnt get to in another life.
i believe that destiny and fate are the same thing....
but i also believe that we have choices in our life that we have control over and destiny or fate has nothing to do with them...
I believe that destiny may play a role in our lives at certain points.. example.. meeting up with your soul mate, or finidng yourself in certain stuations.. but for the most part I believe that we are in control of our own destiny.. I mean why else would we be able to think for ourselves instead of roaming the world set on auto - pilot? This is why we have choices...perhaps we each have several preconcieved destinies.. and our choices are what bring us to the end result? so yes, I believe in destiny, however not that we are ruled by it..i believe we merely arrive at it via our own choices and freewill.
As for my self do not believe in such as for I have found that is not what you do what makes a destiny rather how you do it and for such I do believe that nothing nor from this or any other world can make you ever do anything with your choice. If humans had such thing as choice, luck or any other, then I must certainly would not believe any of you would be in here.
To me, I believe we all choose our own destiny, fate is sometimes taken over, but most of the time, we are the ones that chose where we go, where we end up, and how are lives are going to be :)
Yes i do believe in destiny, but i believe we choose our own destiny. i believe the goddess sets us in the direction of the path we are supposed to take, but we choose which direction we take. if we take the wrong path then we come back
(meaning reincarnation) and do it all over again till we get it right.
Yes, whole heartedly. I believe that everything happens for a reason, be it a result of karma or just how your life is set out to be. Destiny is what brough my love and myself together...I believe in it like I believe in love...and that's with a passion that burns like fire.
i think theres alittle of both yeah we r put here to do something and as we go we make up more of our destiny
I believe this thread is destine to be continued in another incarnation. Holy forum posts this is long. LOL
