For the most part, stamps annoy me. Giving someone who's been here for over a month a "welcome to the Rave" stamp seems silly. Though I do enjoy the more creative ones, I do so hate most of these stamps.

Does nobody realise that stamps are just advertising yourself?

Someone spends days making a beautiful profile, and you think that its OK to stamp it advertising your own achievements?

If people stamp my profile, I message them and ask them to either think of a decent comment, or not to bother at all.

Why don't people try BEING INTERESTED IN OTHERS for a change?

Personally i HATE stamps! it is so wrong to leave one, it pisses me off because i take hours on my pro, just for people to leave pics, so people recongnise them, so stamp me, and you will DIE

echo i dont always use my stamp as u well know because i never used it on your profile or portfolio ..... i usually use it just for the new ones coming in who havent got started on there profile yet when theres so little to really say something unique about it ......

Eeek.... please dont all start defending yourselves, its just my opinion.

I really dislke it when someone rates my profile with a link to their profile, I think its go amazngly egocentric, and they usually get a very low rating out of me, thats what I'm saying.

I have never minded anyone using a stamp on my profile - ever. I find it amusing to see what other people can come up with. Some have been very creative indeed. I have also notice that some have come back, just to take a second look or see updates. I really don't see what the big deal is. If they were really not interested, they would just have rated without using the optional comment in the first place.

As far as saying 'welcome to..,' I still welcome my friends into my apt and I know them for years! Welcome does not have a time limit. Just don't welcome someone who was here on VR before you were. Including Cancer. ;)

i'm not against personal creativity, but I don't like feeling that my profile is being used to up someones rating, and being welcomed by people in their first week.

I like to see what people come up with in their ratings, and I don't expect a novel :-P

Also I did just go to your account and I noticed I rated you and my comment at the time was personal and not a stamp.Stamps weren't a part of Vr yet .I just re-rated you and recommented you as well it was personal as was my first comment to you ...btw,nicely done !

There is the problem of adding a comment while using the stamp that I don't like. There have been many times I wish I could use both. The only way I see to do this was to c/p my stamp code then add my personal comment. Which sort of defeats the idea of the stamp in the first place.
Any ideas?

I totally agree with what batchyld has to say. A personal comment showing you have actually taken the time to read a profile is good ettiquette. I rather post my stamp by just entering a pic with My comment.Instead of pressing that STAMP key. I again think the pics and stamps brighten and lively things up.

also if you are gonna rate people stamping is a good thing to do so people can say wow that is a awsome pic. and they comment back.. its like exotic marketing..mmmmmmmm exotic

i found two things amusing about this thread:

so many people have exceeded their bandwidth or have dead links in their stamps

and

that someone's stamp plays music! that's cool, but would he horrible to hear on top of a profile that already plays music.

Also for the ones who oppose stamps, just remember there is nothing wrong with creativity, so get over it.
