The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Since VR has become a large network of people from all around the world, I wanted to come up with something so that all of us could get to know one another, and get a general idea of what we are all about.

There are thirteen Vampire Clans, all of which are different and unique.

Now, I understand there are some people in this site who do not like to be allied with any clans, or be labeled as anything...thats fine you don't have to participate...so, do not bother reading further & keep your opinions to yourself.

Which clan do you consider yourself to be a part of, and why? Also, give a brief explenation of how this clan better fits your persona.

My Response:

I believe myself to be a fitting Toreador. Why? Because they are the lovers of the arts, artistic , sophisticated, classy, and kindred to human sensibilities. While adamant to worldy aesthetics, underneath them lies a turbulent mass of all that is evil and monstruous...they are not to be messed with.
Their symbol is the everlasting thorned rose, simple yet so full of meaning.

I love all that is beauty. The world's arts & sciences, historical events, music, & literature are my passions. I live for it. Without it, I believe the world would be plain and boring.

This is quite tough, I am likely a lasombra, I manipulate from the shadows, I love the water, and human mores don't generally apply to me. Capricorn generally fits in with that. I am not sure how to resolve the reflection issue.

I beat the game with Ventrue. but I consider myself to be a Tremere, why? well look into them, it fits me I think. Plus that's the result I got on a quiz! LOL


There are a whole lot of Tremere's here I notice.

I believe myself to be more Gangrel than any other, though I have traits of several.
I prefer open spaces to a city and am fine with my own company for long periods of time.
I exert strong control over my emotions especially anger, but when pushed too far that control becomes nearly non-existent.
I can adapt to social situations, but am better if I keep it short lived.

My quiz results are always Gangrel.

So what happens when a Brujah and Toreador have a child? Someone who is obsessed with beauty but will fight you if you disagree with what she considers beauty. Although I’m sure one of the grandparents had an affair with a Lasombra, after all I do have this obsession with water and racing on it.

The voices in my head are saying Malkavian, and well, they always seem to know a lot....

Toreador, they tend to be artistic people and alike.

In summary, the Giovanni Clan is an Enigma. The only Clan to have truly stood outside Kindred politics since its inception, Clan Giovanni has a reputation that causes most fellow kindred to avoid them at all costs. The Clan’s taste for the morbid is something that even the stuffy Ventrue and the wild Brujah can agree is not natural. They are the only clan that knows the joy of life, the dark twilight of unlife and the bitter ashes of true death. Founded during the Dark Ages and coming to ascendance in the Renaissance, the Family of Giovanni has since grown to include several other families. They are now stronger than they have ever been, while all around them disintegrate into dust. Still, suspicion of this Clan has continued to the present day. By staying neutral in quaint battles, the Giovanni have had free rein to build its merchant empire. Now the Clan's wealth is undeniable, but no one knows the exact purpose for which it employs this wealth. Few outsiders have ever taken part in the Clan's necromantic rituals, so the purpose of these is likewise a mystery. Instead, suspicions and innuendoes have taken the places of facts and truths. Clan Giovanni is one of the more rigidly controlled Clans and contact is constantly maintained between members of the Clan.

The Tremere are a clan of tightly-knit magicians. In comparison to the other vampiric clans, the Tremere are especially loyal to their hierarchy...

Ventrue

The Blue Bloods argue that no other clan so rewards individual initiative and accomplishment. Their enemies retort that the clan promotes a younger vampire only when outside pressure makes it unavoidable. A little of both is true.

Not that this dichotomy bothers the clan. The Ventrue take a quiet pride in what they consider pragmatic attitude toward unlife. Let other Kindred worry about who deserved to be doing what. As far as the Ventrue are concerned, the proof of vampire's right to wield power is the fact that the vampire has it.

The attitude extends to the clans position in vampiric society. The fact that the Ventrue lead proves that they deserve to lead. While this means the clan is often a lightning rod, bearing the brunt attacks by anarchs, Sabbat and others, its members also enjoy the fruits of this position -- prime hunting grounds, wealth, adoration, etc......

However; the Ravnos - Gypsies are fun and have appreciated the Toreador.

Toreador for me as well...my Piscean nature tends to turn towards the beauty and artistic side of things.

I'm a loner, good with money and a watcher. So think it would be the Clan Giovanni..

I am Gangrel by far. I love the openess & space to the city life. Not only that i prefer to roam & be on the move as much as possible. If it was up to me id move every year to a new place & never stay anywhere longet than i have 2

My test results may say Tremere but I could never agree with any of them to that degree of certainty, I figure I am better off as one of the humans they kill in the game. hah.

Took the quiz and tend to agree. Gangrel is what it said and I do think of my self as confident and self aware. Primal and savage with a strong survival instinct.

I tend to show mostly Ventrue traits although after reading the White Wolf series, I can identifiy with a few other clans. But if I had to choose just one clan it'd be Ventrue.

I took a quiz a while back & it came up with Malkavians, yeah I guess I would kinda have to agree with that!

i would have to say gangrel . i like to stay to myself sometimes and i love being out side. And like the gangrel i don't hold make my emotions and i stay true to myself and all that i do.

Depends on the moon and my mood but a quizz told me Tremere.

I would be apart of the Clan Giovanni. It fits me in every way.....all the quizes I have taken though state I should belong to the Clan Malkavian...go figure

On one of the Quizz's I have taken, it has come up with the Clan Giovani.

Quizzes and videogames? Nonsense! I play tabletop! From the first time I picked up the players book I wanted to be a Ravnos, but in reality I make a much better Ventrue. I support working heirarchy, I believe in promotion based on worth, and I'm the kind of person who could devote their life to protecting others, which is a Ventrues main duty. For me, Ventrue is the way to go!

I got a quiz result saying the vampire clan Giovani, I do like the idea of a close knit family and power! But feel I should do more research before I completely make up my mind.

Since I am a mix of almost all I would say Malkavian.

After all I am not insane,I just enjoy every second of it ;)

Much of the Assamite symbology is Arabic in origin. Even the clan stronghold, Alamut, is based in a mountain range in the Middle Eastern region. The Hashshashin cult that once occupied this fortress are what inspired the first version of the Assamites.

Aside from warriors/assassins, the Assamites also have among them scholars, known as Viziers, and sorcerers. Effectively the clan consists of three bloodlines, known as castes, each with slightly different Disciplines and weaknesses.
I am curious and steady, I know my path and move foreward without fear.. anyone else out there?

I guess I would be Gangrel like Andaluz I feel I have a strong survival instinct as well. I'm able to take things on as they come.

I think I would be Nosferatu...since they are the scurge of the earth and an outcast. That is the way I feel at times...heh

I am without a doubt, a Gangrel. Let's see....I hate being confined to a space...I need to be able to roam as I see fit. I prefer animal company to any other. My emotions are under tight constraint...and I have a tendency to "loose it" when I get mad. I just fit the Gangrel description better than any other. :)

I would have to say Giovanni. I am smart, family oriented and Italian, such as this clan is tight. I take care of business and keep my family close.

I would say I belong in the Gangrel Clan. I tend to move often. The longest time I have stayed in one house or apartment has been three years. I also love being out side in nature.

sometimes it's hard to devine which clan you belong to when you have characteristics that could place you in several,but I am most like Toreador and Tremere.

It varies for me, depending upon my characters. However, if I had to place myself in a single clan based upon my persona, then I would have to say Assamite

Tzimisce, they are the known as the clan of the fiends, in real im a quite person, but alway inside me i have a feeling, a sadistic instint... I don't know how to describe it, but every test that I take it, says the same ...
Plus, I love the idea to can manipulate the flesh and tho bones, mine or somebody else...

Ventrue, most definately Ventrue, elegant aristocratic, regal with a fierce sence for politics while suffering from a major helper's complex combined serious thrill issue problems when it comes to gambling and infiltrating groups for their own sake...

This is the usual answer I come
up with when taking tests.

I am aloof at times, not always.

I do prefer nature. More open countryside the
better. I feel so alive and free in the untamed
lands. When I am in the city, I can stay for a
little bit. But for the most part I feel an
overwhelming anxiousness, heart palpatations
that hurts my chest. I feel so trapped and/or
caged.


I prefer the company of animals than most
humans. My animals, a cat & dog, are my kids
in a sense. They love me unconditionally in
return whatever my nature may be. When is
comes to humans I have been scarred,
shunned to the shadows, and/or tortured to
such extreme I turn into myself to escape the
pain.

I do tend to keep to myself before helping
others. I was raised to help in any way I can
within reason and what my heart tells me feels
right. Well, you can guess that at some of
those times I have been betrayed by other (s)
motives that make me weary of helping when I
feel it would be right. It's hard to trust my
heart at times especially when I live a lot of
my life that way, when my heart is what gives
me life, the experiences I have enjoyed and
ones I am still waiting to seek and find, etc..

But to each their own. I know I am a strong
person and I know more what's in my heart.

Out of said thirteen clans I am of the Malkavian clan. I played online at white wolf for three years. They broke up because the game masters had a big fight, couldnt get along and white wolf shut down the chat for gaming because of it. :)

Giovanni: the Giovanni are a clan and a mortal family. They are the mafiosos of the vampire world, and a have a clan more tightly-knit than the ranks of the Tremere, which is saying something. All Giovanni vampires spent time in service to the family as a ghoul, and there are no Giovanni vampires who were not born of the Giovanni mortal family. Together, they eradicated most of their parent clan the Cappadocians and the entire Lamia bloodline that protected them. They are fabulously rich, and while they have kept out of vampire politics, they have been quite busy. They have their sights set on greater things beyond the world that vampires are so often fixated on.
This is me to the upmost!!!! So this would be the one im in....

I remember reading The Book Of Nod
And found myself leaning more3 in favor of those that could one day rise up to end it all...

Haha, yes, indeed finally a discussion worth posting on in a great long while. If you haven't noticed that these clans encompass all aspects of a full life, with predominant paths for the individual.

I am at home at the sea, on the road and in the shadows, so I am a Lasombara Thaumaturgist, it seems. It is nothing more in that with the other disciplines one can appear as any clan.

Old Clan Tzimisce...... I'm reclusive, though by circumstance and less by choice, I would fit well into living in my own estate , looking out at the vast expansive territory I controlled from my balcony and making mental commentary. Nobody knows if I'm really there or not, or just a legend, which is why I'd make a good Old Clan Tzimisce.

I am somewhere between a Tzimisce and a Brujah. Tzimisce I can easily change appearance. Brujah, my political veiws are somewhat unusual and does not conform to one standard or the other.

ok, after doing some research on these, I would have to say that I am Gangrel

Firstly though...to relate this to my personality, there are too many places where my interests cross over in ways that would make me some brujah, toreador, ventrue, malkavian...

Secondly, I have never really appreciated packs. I question authority and organization in general and lean more towards self discovery.

So for those like me, had the game become reality and the dark gift been given to me...I would have appealed more likely to a wandering loner vampire who remained separate and disjointed from the clans...ie Caitif.

Well, my quizzes always come out as the Tremere clan, but I don't know if I can wholly agree with that.

I don't care for the fantacy clans, but my boyfriend Jens likes them and says he is Tremere. He has a nice writing about the Tremere on his profile.

I think there is a little of all in us, some are more stronger traits when we are in need of them.

I took the questionair in the game several times and about 90% of the time I got Tremere, so that's where I get my clan from...

i hate being associated with any clan. I'd rather walk alone and do not feel the need to be part of a group or told what to do.

Tremere clan

Ok, if I were to be part of a Clan I'd have to say I'd fit mostly in Gangrel. I guess this is because I enjoy solitude and often learn by experience. However I'm a mixed assortment of lots and unpredictable at best.. Another test (i know, it's just a test) states that I'm not sure where I came from, my powers are unique and really don't belong to any clan. I tend to wander and do a bit of soul searching in my eternal life ;)

It would have to be Lasombra all the way though I do have to confess because of my vainness it would truly suck not to be ever able to see my reflection again.

The Shadow powers and the ambition that the clan has though are a definite plus.

If I identified with the roleplaying clans, I guess it would be Toreador...I tried RPG'ing once...found it boring, and gave up, went back to dancing in the club.

Insofar as the fictional clans being associated with reality of vampirism...I would prefer it didn't happen, because then ppl get confused, or misguided.

I deest being put into a clan or group...but for the sake of this I shall,
personally, I believe I share if not entirely, mostly the description of the Giovanni clan, being extremely charmed by death and everything dark and twisted, solitude and dark arts (especially Necromancy) .

in the quiz i took it told me i was of clan Giovanni though i never would have expected it.

Part Malkavian- I have a couple of the official dementia(plus I was given the nickname Malkavious when I was younger)

Im going to have to go with Malkavian, largely because im often viewed as absolutely insane. I find, however, that what people call my craziness is usually the expression of my insights

As I am sure many can see from the way I write and carry myself on my profile, I am definately a *Toreador*.

Obsessed with certain perfections, not resting till one finds the perfect piece of art for that corner of the room-- at least for this week, etc.

I consistantly rearrange things to keep the flow going, carry a book, quill and ink with me in my car consistantly, and overall enjoy the natural as well as created arts of life and afterward.

It's something I've seemed to be engraved with at a very younge age-- I went to art school, started to write more poetry again *grins at ElderDaniel* and go forward for a communications degree only to find myself more into the artistic side of the hospitality industry.

i would have to say in parts i am toreador/tremere....

toreador because i am an artist i draw ...plus i love music and play guitar it is a big part of my life......

tremere because there are some trats there that are me the loyalty to my friends and family......

but if i could only pick one i would have to go with toreador
