I know this has been asked before wy many people joined, some looking for friends others people like them,
what im realy asking was what drew you was it to open your self to a wide range of wisdom, finding a away to understand your self, looking for a away of direction, of what you do, or advice on how to advance your prowers?
mainly finding "people" who are my own kind
and 14months later, i am still here and still learning :)
i came here to find like minded people, i study a wide rage of magic and since bing on here i have been able to seek advice on working speels from others
Common interests, sharing ideas, the chance to argue and debate, the chance to learn and maybe even teach.
I meet someone who told me they were human but.....part vampire and phoenix.
Decided to investigate by coming here, and have learnt quite alot in a short time.
I have also learnt about energy manipulation and been surprised indeed by the results.
The bonus of course was joing my Coven and making some good friends....which is what has kept me here.
Friends and family and then i stayed because I fell in love with this place.. there is never a dull momnet.. something new to read all the time.. I have also met some new friends also
well first it was my bf who is now my ex
and shortly after it was the people who i related to. i felt at home here and i still do
Hmmmm, don't seem to have made any friends though I do appear to have irritated a few people unintentionally. But, I like the site, I actually like the people, so I'm glad I found it and I think I will hang around for awhile.
I had a profile before this one a couple years ago, I just stumbled across the rave then, but this time I just wanted to talk to some new people and try different approaches of profile management.
Actually my daughter introduced me to the VR. I love it here. I've learned alot, I have shared alot, and I have met some wonderful people.
my ex girlfriend had found this site and told me about it and i was curios about what she was doing so i joined and stayed and now i have plenty of new friends and i like all the pictures and the communication so thats why i was drawn here
Ran into it. LOL. But decided to sign up to make friends and to learn about what others believe in.
Why you brought me here my love. >;] But yes. This place is full of interesting information and concepts that even one who does not nessicarily believe in the Magick can find worth discussing.
While I was going around the net looking for a good database concerning Vampires, I found VR, and I thought it was the most worthing database I had come up with.
Also, there are many differences between VR and the majority of other sites which include profiles etc. The VR wants you to be actually active and thinking, and also inapropriate behaviours are not tolerated.
These are my reasons for joining.
I am new but I am enjoying meeting new like minded people.
I had a friend Refer me after seeing my Vamp Myspace profile.. He said that I would love this cool new site he found... Well here I am 2 years later :-)
I'm here because a friend referred me. The site has many varying personalities and I've met some wonderful people. It tends to be my escape from the real world every so often.
A friend of mine who is a member of VR suggested VR to me due to my utter facination with Vampires, and I am staying so that I may gain some insight and knowledge about Vampires.
The Rave drew me for the vast range of things I can and do learn here.
I stumbled across this site while on a search for paranormal topics and i was looking for answers!!
What drew me to join VR was a opportunity to meet other people with an interests in the supernatural/wierd, the active participation that's encouraged in VR, the chance to study and learn about such a wide variety of subjects...need i go on:)
The Rave is a great place where learning and acceptance of differing beliefs abounds! Not too mention the many friends I have made here!
The people, and i always find myself learning something new everyday...
I have been looking for desent people to talk too for a long time and my former roommate told me about this site and I have been on here ever since.
A friend of mine told me about it and I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I made some wonderful friends especially in my coven.
A chance to find like minded friends or a place to stand alone against the tide.
I think everyone has asked me this and I tell them all the same thing:
I was tired of MySpace where my best friend was getting harrassed hourly and Me too sometimes...
I followed my best friend here cause there has always been the whole vampire interest in us. (It is what the two of us write about most often)
As a (NonPublished) writer, I am always looking for information on the things I love and am interested in and VR is wonderful for both its people and its information.
I was and am always looking for new people to talk to (So long as they are not little kids and have half a brain)...
Well because I wanted to learn more and I always had an interest in Vampires and because a friend sent me an invite and the site looked kool
There doesn't seem to be a wrong reason for being here.
The allure that I have for vampires and all things dark, to improve my knowledge, the meeting of like-minded people and now the fantastic friends I have found on here.
A friend of mine was a member and it sounded very intriguing to say the least.
a website where you can be your self and not be judged
That there are many facets of spirituality, and that some of these facets are dark,
is accepted here.
That darkness and sadness are not necessarily bad, but just a part of the human condition, is accepted here.
Exploration into ancient spiritual wisdom is accepted here.
Respectful discussion of divergent cultures and divergent world views
on faith, religion, spirituality, belief , and free will is encouraged here.
If one has, or seeks to develop, talent in the visual arts, one can express that in the profile and in the portfolio.
If one has, or seeks to develop, talent in the literary arts, one can express that in the profile and in the journal.
Not sure I came across this website by accident and I decided to see what it was about.
i came here because it was a place for me to belong with people like me.
I found VR through a google search for vampire chat rooms. I was not looking for friends at the time. I was just curious about people that believe themselves to be vampires.
I came here because a friend ask me to come and join..Wasnt long before i was addicted and here I am..My Daughter Deann has joined also..I have met many good Friends here and yeah a few bad ones..I am here every chance i get
I found VR searching for information on Vampires. I joined to check it out...I soon found that I really related with most of the people in the community.
So I guess the information really drew me to the rave, as well as the people ^_^
A friend of mine invited me to his page and the obsession began....
A Yahoo search on vampires brought up the VR main site. Curiosity brought me here. I have found friends and a wealth of knowledge in many areas here.
i answered this on another post, i will say the same, i have always been interested in the darker side of life, as well as the occult... but the reason i found and joined VR is, i was seduced and converted by a beautiful woman, who also is on here.
I've always been a fan of horror/romance movies and books, especially those concerning vampires. I found a VR banner/lead from one of author Stephanie Meyers pages and was immediately curious...and the rest is history :0)
My natural interest in the supernatural and the occult. I have a great curiosity for these thing.
... but frankly, until I actually feel belonging to this community, I find little to rave about.
I saw the link on a friends myspace profile clicked it and it lead me here and I created a profile been here for over a year and have made some really cool friends :)
I had a very dear old friend that I was once vampirically involved with for some time who I kept in touch with over the years. He kept talking about this site and how I should join (with my husband at the time). I checked it out. I enjoyed finding like-minded and even not-so-like minded people. It helped me to express myself in ways the military generally protests. I left unvoluntarily because of my ex and the addiction to the site and its people eventually led me back. So, there you have it folks...
I like to do different kinda things a t different time which provides me pleasure without harming others. I find pleasure in VR .
The people ! there is no where else that you can find as many diffrent people
My thirst for knowledge is what drew me. I came to VR for all that it could teach me.
I have been interested in vampires since I can remeber and thats a long time, Just about everytime I've been online since i got my PC Ive looked up info on vampires and there logical history. There is alot of interesting things everywhere. I found rave by a search engine and fell in love with the site and have learned a few things and made alot of new friends.
The idea of intelligent and decent people..I was sadly disapointed.
actually I was in a yahoo movies chat room and we all were discussing vampire movies and one guy messaged me and told me about this site. I really like it here so I stayed. I've met alot of great people on here and hope to meet more.
I hae been interested in vampires and all 'dark' things for a long time. I acutally heard about this site from a guy taking pictures at Bats Day in August. He gave me a card for the site and said to look for the pictures here. So I came on to do so. The funny thing is, I never found the pictures, but I did stick around. I hadn't been to a place that was so accepting of all things dark and different. I've met a lot of cool people and I learn new things all the time. I plan to stay for a very long time. I love it here. I'm really glad I met that guy at Bats Day.
one of mah friendz told meh bout it and laot of the people on here are into the thingz that i am into and they dont really treat meh az a different they treat meh az if i am another human being
in the begginning cancer had nichivan and that was the driving force behind gothic beauty.......and it was good!.....however in time vr has become something more, not in words so much as in features.....it comes and goes........but a place that all forms of vamps can exchange ideas and beliefs.....co-exist and even prosper in a house or coven....the site and idea/spirit is great and i love it for one.....long live the prince!!!
Hmmm good question ...I guess I was drawn here by the fact that its a place where I can be myself and not have to worry about much of anything..sure on occasion there is lil..punk or two but..they usually never stay long to be a problem..I like the people I know and like to meet new and intresting people daily. I never used to be a people person til I joined this site. Everyone is right this place is addictive.
I got a message from a friend about it. I decided to check it out because I was already interested in vampires. I've made a few friends, and learned a lot.
I love Vampires so it seemed like an obvious place to continue my learning of them and meet like-minded people.
a friend got me into it. got bored with it a couple times but i kept with it

Some random person had IMed me and gave me the link saying I might find this place interesting. Why I singed up and have stuck around for nineteen months is because I've found this site to be a place where those of like mind and soul can gather and not be judged because we happen to be what we are.
I've gained a lot of knowledge, and forged new friendships that mean so very much to me. I've found this place to be a resource, filled with so many people willing to share what they know to those who are willing to listen. I've also discovered a lot about who I am, and what I am through conversations with those like myself. This site and it's members has come to mean so much to me in my short time here. And I hope to be a part of it for a very long time.
family and looking for like minded people brought me here and then i got hooked
I actually stumbled across this site by accident my younger sister was on my computer and i was looking over her shoulder
some months ago, more than a year to be precise, i started feeling something very strange... i talked to a friend who's into the occult and she told me that maybe i was awakening... i started looking for information about vampires and i got here... it's been such an experience being here and find other people i can talk to... people feeling the same that i feel...
I was told that I had to join by my friend who was a member here called memnochthedevil. I joined and kind of haven't left, nothing really drew me here apart from him saying "Join this site it's cool!", he doesn't come online here anymore now haha.
I used to frequent a site called Bloody Kiss but that went away and this is a bit similar.
I came to the Rave by accident; at the time I thought I needed no 'new' direction or growth exactly. I always have had a sincere intrest in Vampires and OtherKin, and I found the Rave to be a good refrence point....maybe even a place to have fun. What I have found, is friendship, and even moreso, a sense of kinship and kindred spirits with some on here. The idea exchange among some is enormous; which leads the way for growth in all areas of life. So why did I come to the Rave? Ultimately, to find myself.
at first it was trhe intrigue of the site now its the never ending knowledge and the friendships
My sister TwistedWhispers' told me about the site and after seeing what VR was all about i decided to join as it's a excellent place to learn about different things as well as study the subjects i'm already interested in, plus of course i get to meet people who have simular interests.
My little sister showed me the site. And I loved it and have been here ever since. I can be myself and no one mind. I have also made a lot of good friends on the rave.
i want to find a vampire girl who likes to bite.
i spend most of my time here talking to fellow anime fans
My GF told me about this site so i decided to check it out and have become addicted like most people
The people i know in real life dont share my enthusiasm for Vampire's and such. No one i know dresses out of the mainstream and as it goes, nither do i, though i wouldent mind it as i love clothes from the victorian era Lol. No one i know listen's to rock music, So i make up for all of this online. I'm on vampirerave for the people, alot of them being sharing the same taste's as me.
Have a nice day :)
finding people with the same interest and sexy goth girls in my area:P
Looking for serious research stuff on mythological vampires I staggered blindly into VampireFreaks !!! luckily someone there pointed me here ... been here ever since and wouldn't be anywhere else :)
Batty asked me to join, so I did. I've been happy here ever since.
To be quite honest and frank: my friend Jon introduced me to the site. I am, as by nature, not readily willing to accept a belief in vampyrism, but, theological discussion is my cup o' tea. It is by thumbing threw the forum that I am quite aware of what fetched me; the challenge of intellectual discussion, debate, and theoretical alltruism is quite a dandy treasure to be had.
I came here to study and learn more about myself and find like minded people to talk to, so I did not feel alone. Now I am not alone and have many friends on here and also found my mate.
Plus I have learned alot about different magics and religions and new gifts that I did not even know I had or was unaware of. Trying to learn to use this side of me now and explore it more with the help of my friends here.
As for me and my fiancee' we will be here for awhile.
Well, for starters, i HATE myspace. I will never get a myspace account in my life. For me it is too mainstream, too full of idiots, and i dont appriciate that the Myspace co. can do whatever they please with people's personnal photos once they are submitted. I started a second Vampirefreaks account, but their are so many fakers on there. I only logon there for the music. This site, from what i've seen, keeps to the theme. i like how there is a status system, to weed out all the jackasses who only made an account just to say "I got a vampire account!" Plus, i like the people. They are very involved, and some of their interests are the similar to mine.
a friend from another vampire game referred me to here, so i decided to come and check it out
Actualy.. I was looking for promoters and sponsors for the goth cruise...
However.. the welcome here was so overpowering.. and MOST of the threads were and are so damn intelligent.. I stayed beyond promotion and began interaction amongst the community. There are many beliefs I share here (though I keep the private).
Hence.. I turned down VampireFreaks for sponsorship of the cruise. Besides.. where else will a bunch of cool people put up with my 3am insomnia ramblings about undead lovelies that go "chomp" in the night??
Now.. If I could just stop working 16 hours a day so I can get beyond level 16..
Truthfully I was drawn here out of boredom. I had studied the paranormal for yeras and thought it might be kinda fun to join, over a year later Ive made tons of friends had a relationship and been able to help all kinds of people. I love it.
vampire love, curiousity. I like to play. Next thing I know, I'm agonizing over my profile.
A friend told me about this site. I joined and loved it ever since. =p
I started looking at the Goth cruise 2007 forums and stayed
I wanted to talk to people who have the same interests as me, because where I live almost EVERYONE is a gd preppy @$$ and they all hate me.
i was originally brought here by a friend but has since left the rave.anyways now i am here for myself and noone else
A gentleman I know sent me a card, and I was checking out the site. I like the active participation and the chance to make some new friends. I've always been attracted to stories of the supernatural and to gothic culture, so it was only natural that I'd end up joining the Rave, though he didn't know that at the time. He does now, though. :[
at first i came for the forums and articles -- ended up staying for the kind people I've encountered on VR.
I have to be honest what drew me here isn't what's keeping me here now. I have changed my mind about VR. I still find it fascinating and everyday I find something new that I didn't know about.
But for the most part I am coming up with my own answers about questions I had about the paranormal.
I was curious about Vampires when I joined, now I'm not. I guess the next step would be to meet one.
For me it was to learn all i could and to grow in who I am and for friends...I made many all of whom I consider family...maybe thats what I really wanted a family.
I would love to say it was to meet like minded people. However this was not the case for me. I joined hoping to learn more. In the process I have met some really wonderful people.
I'd have to say the people you meet, the knowledge given, and the addictiveness of it all. =)
