This is very short, and boring, it being my first forum post. But this is my 2 pt. question. Is it possible to be a Witch, AND a Vampire at the same time? And my second question is: Can you be a natural-born Witch, when no-one else in your family practices the craft?
I think it could be possible. Vampires and witches aren't that different from each other. And for your second question, yes I think that's possible too. No one eles in yor family might be connected to the Earth as you are...
I am a natural born witch and if I were turned into a vampire I don't suppose I would loose that side of me that makes me who I am.
Yes you can be born a witch with no family enheritance just like the genetic deffect of vampirism.
i think that you can be a natural born witch even though no one practices, it could be something that others have just ignored or that it skipped generations until you came along.
I think you can be born with it. Some people are just more in tune with the earth and their surroundings. Also I don't that would change if you were turned into a vamp. It might just make you a stronger witch.
I'm interested to know what criteria is used to establish what a witch is, and I dont mean by definition alone.
I have all the traits of vampirism with no obvious genetic precursor, I believe the same can be true for a witch. Also, I believe it is possible to be a witch and a vampire. Just my opinion...
Rev. Ravyn
yes and yes.
There has been a thread on if u can be a witch and vamp at the same time recently and yes you can. That would be like asking if someone can be a doctor at the same time as being an indian. (yes they can)
and I know people who were born with the ability of magic ect... they can make things 'happen' without a problem ect. I am not so sure I would call it a witch but...
I've mentioned something like this before...I think everyone has the qualities of a "witch".
We're all born of earth, it only makes sense that we can all be close to the earth, the elements, and the energies of both.
And assuming someone can be turned into a vampire from there, yeah I think it's possible.
It is possible as there is no reason why they canot be combin in one person, the craft and the vampirism are not incompatible, they are simply diferent. So there is no reason they should not work well together.
thanx guys. you all have been alot of help. i've been practicing witchcraft since about the second grade. i belive i might be a natural born witch, because all my life i've felt like i had some sort of affinity (sp) with the elements. mostly with spirit. and i've only been a vampire for about two years, so i guess i would be classified as a fledgling? i dont know. i just hope i'm not assuming something totally rediculous.
as awkward as this may sound, i am a ordained rev, and i have been practicing for 12 years or so and if you could get a vampire to sit still then all the power to you from what knowledge i have of vampires they have their own agenda, and really shouldn't have the time to be learning a art, and besides if my folk lore, knowledge is correct they already had elaborate powers why would they need to learn the arts?
Not rediculus at all. They are both completely possible... I DO know how it feels when you doubt things like that at first... you hope that it would be true but you don't want to be totally wrong. I went through that with things such as seeing ghosts and also with the vampirism....
Well the first part of your question was covered in a thread not to long ago so if you search it I am sure you will find it .
As to the second part of your question . I don't know . I think it may be possible . If you feel drawn to the craft then go with it
u cant be a witch and vampire at the same time, because vampires do not really exist. And yes it is possible to be a witch when no one in your family is
BlackHawk: if you believe that witches exist, then why cant vampires exist to? a vampire dosent turn into a bat, they are not repelled by crosses, and garlic sure as hell dosent do anything. i'm not saying that i believe in every legend that comes around, but what i DO believe is that a vampire is a physical being that feeds on blood. it may or may not be an immortal soul. i dont know, 'cause i dont have the answers of the universe. i'm not trying to start a fight, i'm just replying.
if you belive on it so sure you can belive you is natural borned as anything.
I am by nature a vampire, and by choice a witch. Both aspects of my life coincide together, and each plays a different role for different things in my life.
I do believe it is possible to be born a natural witch even when other members of your family do not practice.
Good question and you have lots of answers already. I think that you can be a witch and a vampire at the same time I've read a book were that happened and I think that you can be a natural born witch and no one in your family participate in the craft. The may have the same abilities you do, they just choose not to use them. B/C I think that you have the choice if you want it. Hope this helps.
Yes. And most Natural Witches are one form of a psychic vamp or another as it is.
And more often than not...natural Witches are born from parents who do not practice.
I personally believe that the answer to both parts is yes.
I suppose so. It all depends on what your definition of a witch is. I most often hear it used in terms of religion, so if you're a vampire, you can practice whatever religion you so desire.
yes and well.. yes
My birth parents are about as non witch like as you can get lol. Thankfully because of my native heritage I was introduced and sort of adopted by people that do understand magic is real and useful.
Being a vampire does not make it impossible to be a witch... in fact I have found far more of them here than in other groups I belong to.
And being a natrual witch.. I do beleive that every one has the ability to be a witch or whatever you wish to call it.. its a matter of opting to use that part of you or not.
as far as my knowledge goes, i understand that there are lot of simmilarities between vampires, and witches. though there are some differences.
Actually oddly I was doing some reading on the how to stop a vampire myths.. of course talking the mythy vamps here.. but about 90% of the ways you stop a myth vamp from getting you also works on a witch.. and they say one way to become a vamp is to have been a wicth in life.. again sepaking of the myth undead things here.
I think both are very possible, but the natural born witch while no one else in your family practices or plays attention to any given abilities from the past is most likely then becoming a vampire/witch, though I have heard stories that are true to it happening.
Yes, you can be born a witch,,,,You might be surprised that your heritage might contain a witch or two...I didn't find out this information until recently..Most non-pagan do not embrace their pagan heritage,,,As for being both a vampire and a witch, It seems quite possible.
i dont real know but i think there are vampires but they dont show thmselves
to the general public about witches i dont know
everyone is a natural born witch it in your heart . there are a lot of conflicts between witches and vampires but if a priest can be a marriage councillor anything is possible
yah..i do believe that u can be naturally born witch and be a vampire at the same time.
a friend of mine is a natural witch..
why not? afterall the craft would follow in groups of people, look at shamanic cultures sometimes a prophet or seer or nature child is foundi n the most unlikely places. Power will choose the host that can ideally best serve it, now should you also be a vampire I am sure your craft would take a different shape seeing asyou are limited in your use od sunlight, and in your ability to avoid violence and murder.
Yes you can be both vamp and witch, and have neither parent be one or the other.
I say yes to both questions. I don't see why a person couldn't be both and yes you can be born a witch without having it in your family already.
As for the first ? anything is possible. For the 2nd....I beleive you can a certain gene can be repressed for generations without coming out, maybe a great great etc...ancestor was a witch but the gene went dormit until many generations after.
I do belive so i think both of your questions the answere to both is a very good posabilty that you can be
I agree yes it may not be known that a family member practises witch craft it might also be thaT its skipped a few generations
Ido believe that a real witch is natural born. But, I also believe that regardless of our family of origin issues, we all have a purpose and a calling to our true path and our true destiny. If those of us have felt the calling for a time and have always found that they possess gifts that others do not....once we choose to pursue our destiny, that path is chosen, as we were chosen by the Divine. I also feel that certain abilities can be developed also as we all possess these abilities to some extent.....
I don't see why one could not be a witch and a vampire at the same time there are many on here who are. I also agree with mysticalmoon a real witch is natural born and who knows maybe some where down the line like a great grandparent was a witch as well. But family ties do not make you who you are, you do that.
I'd say yes to all of it --I'm a Satanist but truely live as a vampire ...
yes and yes just ass most everyone else said..
Thats like asking if you can be goth and Christian
Or Catholic and a werewolf. LOL
You are what you are and you believe in what you believe
Thank you dear..
I just dont see why so many people only see things in black and white. The world is Millions and billions of Colors and shades. We are too and anyone who does not see that is missing out in the real world..
Not entirely sure how this one would work, however I don't why it should stand that you cant be both a witch and a vampire at the same time.
As for the birth thing not sure about that one either sorry.

well i did some searching in my family tree, and the salem witch trial records. as it turns out, i have three ancestors that were tried as witches, one of them is acctually my namesake. whats funny is that its on my grandmothers side of the family, and she's a straight up christian who believes that all witches are evil. she's one of the people that see's only the negative in everything. she's basically like "witches are evil, the bible is right, you're wrong, my way is the only way, blah, blah, blah!" pardon my ranting.
A person can be many different things. Witch and vampire, I believe is possible. There are no rules or laws that make it to where you cant. As for your second question, maybe no one else in your family is now, but who knows about generations ago?!
A witch is a witch. If your heart is that of a witch then so be it no matter what your family is.
I would have to answer yes to both of your questions. It is possible to be witch and vampire. Being a witch is not always generational.
absolutly hun yes to both think of it as an interatial marriage;only closed minded people would try to bother you over it and to clarrify i dont just mean black n white someone who is babtist marries a musslem(sp)still "interatial"to an exctent wish i could think of a better word for it though....
I don't know. As for myself, I come from a long line on both sides; each side different of course. Now most in my family try to hide and surpress their gifts, for thinking it's wrong or evil. Thanks society.
yes to both as I am vampiristic and shamanistic also, but have studied various forms of magic for about 20 or so odd years and my parents are not witches and as far as I can tell none of my ancestors were, so I do not believe it matters much just what is in your heart and soul.
I think its quite possible. Although, might not be knowable by said person.
Oh my god, not THIS question again *rolls eyes* Why can't you be a witch and a vampire? There is nothing related between the two that would affect the other. My opinion is this is a pointless question that has been asked TOO many times.
As for the natural born witch, it is something you are born with wether others in your family practice or not. It is in your heritage, your genes, your brain.
Yes i believe you can be born a natural witch, even if you're family doesn't practise magic. and the vampire bit well i suppose yes
It is very possible indeed. Infact, there are many witchy vamps out there. All you have to do, is look. ^_^ There isn't a genetic code (I don't think, correct me if I'm wrong) for witches, like there is for vamps and weres, and even if there were, there is such a thing as a half breed.
i believe i am living the vampire lifestyle
and i am wiccan....
so in my case it's possible
i agree with the post above this one
I belive you can be both, if ur a vampire, what stops you from practising magic?
Absolutely. Family traditions have to start somewhere, and there are many practicing witches with vampiric traits. In fact, I believe Vampire Magick is a branch all of its own, though I may need to research that further...
Sure. I suppose you can be a vampire and a witch at the same time, I don't see why not...and yes, you can be born a with even if it's not inherited through a family member.
Well Wicca is just basically an appreciation of the Earth and all on it, a nature religion. So of course you can be born that way or learn to apprecaite it. Like Earth signs in astrology. They are naturally drawn to things like that, especially Virgo, which I have tons of in me. I love Earthly things, like water, grass, trees, animals, gems, etc.
Yes to both. I am a vampire and I pratice magicks, I don't believe in normal boundaries that some folks say there are supposed to be.
Witchs who are natural born, are simply that..a blessing of nature. The parents sometimes have nothing to do with what powers the child possesses.

I believe in past lives... so I think its quite possible for you to be born a witch with no one in your current family or even family history being one... the being that is you doesn't change what it is... just takes on a new form, it that made sense.
If your speaking of wicca, I would think there would be a fine line. Depending on how you feed. The one and only law of wicca being "Do what thou wilt, an' it harm none!" other than that I see no problem. Though not a witch, I've been practicing magick for years and my vampiism seems only to bolster it.
Well like me...I'm the black sheep so to speak of the family. I'm more open-minded about things and when they first heard about my fascination of vampires...they thought i was nuts. Also like the first post said...there wouldn't be too much difference between a vampire and witch if you define yourselves as such. There are a lot of similarities.
I think a gift for the craft is kind of like numbers in the lottery.
It lands on who ever it lands on. but I also believe that it can be learned. I think anything is possible. You cant be labeled just one thing. Like a vampire, and a vampire only. So I think it is possible to be both
I practiced witchcraft & lived the lifestyle of a vampire for quite some time. So, the answer to your first question would be yes. And I would have to say the answer to your 2nd question would be a yes also as there is no one else in my family that practices witchcraft. As long as you realize the witchcraft I speak of is not like what you would see on Charmed. That is just TV. Not reality.
Yes i think you can be a nautrual born wich there are few out there
Speaking mythologically, yes, it's possible.
E.g. take Anne Rice's characters 'Mona Mayfair' and 'Merrick Mayfair'. They were born witches and turned into vampires while retaining part of their witchyness.,.
Agreeing with most everyone on this, I think that you can be both. I do believe that you can be born a witch even without the family traits involved.
anything is possible..im turning wicca and my parents were never wiccan and im a vampire and no every one else in my family is afraid of blood
I think you could be both, and as for being born as a witch without family history I would assume that it would be the same as being born with psychic/clairvoyant/medium abilities when no one else in your family displays these traits.
I do believe that my answer to both of your questions would have to be yes. I do think you can be witch and vampire at the same time.. Also I dont think anyone else in your family would have to be a witch for you to be one.
No. A witch is a person that belongs to the old religion. A vampire is a creature that survive by drinking the blood of others.
I think anything is possible, I dont believe that you loose one ability because you have another. To put it in simple terms: If you drove a car all your life then started to ride a motorbike and became a top level rider you still know how to drive a car. Thats how I look at it anyway.
As for being a witch even though normally it is passed down from family member to family member I dont see why someone who hasnt had any family member in the pass to become a witch.
I think one can practice any life style they want to.
As for natural born witches I don't know much about the subjects, but there are people who have talents that none of their relatives have so yeah why not?
i believe it is possible to be what u chose to be... reguardless of your family history...
yes it is possible for you to be both, i am a natural witch , a psy even though i don't really bring the two together, its better to know what your dealing with in both cases
Anything is possible, I don't think genetics has a lot to do with what we become, I personally beilve it comes from your soul....be you vampire, or witch, or both, its a part of you regardless your birth parents.
I would have to say yes to both questions. Being a Witch can be "natural" where the person has various "powers." They don't always use the label, "Witch." A Vampire is mostly by choice, and becoming a Witch is also a choice.
I think anyone can be a natural born witch without taking into account their family background. You can also learn to harness those powers on your own and figure it all out. But so-and-so of your family doesn't have to be a witch for you to be a natural born witch.
As for being a witch and a vampire, which kind of vampire are you talking about? I've seen some practicing witches who were psi vampires. So I think the answer is yes. But I don't think the mythological vampire really exists so if that's the kind you speak of, then no.
Is it possible to be a Witch, AND a Vampire at the same time?
Since both vampirism and wiccan/pagan etc are lifestyles, then yes, it is possible to be both.
Can you be a natural-born Witch, when no-one else in your family practices the craft?
Yes you can. I am a natural born but neither my mother or granmother are practitioners. Sometimes it is handed down, and sometimes a person is just born with it. Maybe there are witches blood far back in their bloodlines, but that is something you would have to look into yourself.
markus666 -
That doesn't really explain anything.
A person could be apart of the old religion yet still be a vampire.
and fyrechyld -
That's not technically true.
Someone born a human cannot be an squirrel.
Someone born with one skin color cannot be someone with a different skin color.
Someone born a man cannot become a woman able to give birth.
I think that any one could be a witch, we all have the ability to learn to use magic, so any one can be a witch. Assuming that someone can actually become a vampire, what's stopping him or her from practicing magic? I believe a vampire could still be a witch.
well look at the nature of the thing.
Magicks are inborn in everything in creation so yes, one could train to become a witch.
Vampirism is an afflcition of the body and mind which comes from imbalance of energies and can be corrected if it is desired to be. However there are such cases of vampires that suit the needs of the individuals taken with such matters.
Anyway to answer your question its a matter of how it manifests in your life, what means you take to develop it to the best of your abilities and the mode by which you allow your will to guide you with it through your day to day.
i think you can be a witch and a vampire at the same time... and i also think that it is possible to be a naturally born witch. for that person may just be blessed as some are not
