When a ghost/spirit passes through you, what do you feel? Be specific.

I think like it has been stated, probaly a chill maybe a little enegized on the spirits energy. have really not had this but i am sure many good responses will come in.

I also say a chill with surge of energy at the same time once the spirit enters you it is burst of energy with that cold feeling ... of course some one may of felt different ....

maybe a form of a feeling or dream or something like that.

When it happened to me I felt a chill along with different emotions, along with thoughts that weren't mine.

i was in a hotel, with my husband a child on a road trip to florida. I the room i felt the energy of a ghost, The energy of the room was "sexually" charged. it was really uncomfortable. i could not sleep.

That is a interesting question, I beleive this just happen to me the other day in my house. I was walking through the hall then all of a sudden I had this erie feeling my heart started pumping fast and it felt like I had this rush of energy flow through me. I beleive that it could of been a spirit passing me by.

I've only had this happen to me once. It was during the summer and a thunderstorm was moving in. Everyone else was taking a nap and I had the balcony door open when this icy cold breeze passed directly through me (it was like 92 outside) and I couldn't move...then I smelled this perfume...you know, kinda like what really elderly women wear. Real flowery/lemony...then it was gone. Weird stuff. :)

i cant say its ever happened to me but i imagine you would feel a chill and maybe a presence that you not alone

There are places on campus that you often get an eerie feeling being around. I was walking through one of the oldest halls, and felt like something grabbed my ankle. The feeling was almost like an icy hand touching my skin. There was also an accompanying feeling of...not unease, but more like someone was staring holes through you. It may not be what you are looking for, and may not even be what I'm claiming, but I believe that that is what it feels like for many people, and I've never been sensitive to those sorts of things.

An interesting question you have there.

In my experience, the feeling you get depends on a few things.

1. The amount of energy that the spirit holds.

2. The amount of time that the spirit has been wandering the spirit realm.

3. The mind set of the person be touched/contacted by the spirit.

The reason I say this is due to the fact that i have felt spirits many times. Sometimes it feels like a cobweb brushing across my face, sometimes a shiver down the spine, sometimes the entire room will drop in temperature.

I've never actually had an experience, that I know of. It's been described as sort of a chill that makes you shiver...And I think that might be correct but I wouldn't argue with the idea that maybe it's a warmth.

for me it depends on the spirit and why I am touching them. The chill is normally part of it yes. But I can gain other things as well.. some spirits help me calm down or give me energy.. make me more antsy.. it really does depnd on the spirit... oft times it is a way fro them to get a message to you.. maybe the only way for them to at times.

Myself personally I had it happen only once when i was working night shift in a nursing home , on a lock down unit...

I felt very cold , tingles all over, Chills , hair on my neck stood up... Was just an eerie feeling nothing major tho...

When a spirit touches you, you of course feel the cold as it is drawn out of an area as ambient energy. It also feels like walking threw cobwebs.

Well that is an interesting question. Feels like well it is unexplainable honestly but I will try it is just wow.

i dont believe i have had a spirit pass through me. I have had spirits in teh same room as me and where they are standing its chilly so i would expect it to be chilly

I would expect to feel a chill... but this has never happened to me (to my knowledge) so really I do not know.

Oh my, the things that I can tell you.

Like this one time at band camp (Chuckles)...Seriously though, I have several encounters a week. Sometimes at the hotel I work for we have a little girl about the age of 10 or so who always knocks on either the front desk counter, or the nearby 8 foot tall cabinet.

She always leaves a bit of a cold chill, which feels completely differant than the A/C.

Sometimes they appear out of the blue. Walking down Choupitoulas near the French Quarter, on the way to a local store, I was drinking a can of rum/coke while walking beside the wife. Well, out of nowhere an apparition appears, which made me choke on the beverage and in turn loose my voice for about 10 minutes. The bloody thing walked right through me with no warnings.

This left a tingly sensation, not warm and fuzzy, but cold and brittle. Like being stuck inside a walk in freezer for about 5 minutes. Don't ask me why many specters have that coldness around them, mayhaps death is a bit dark...Yes, dark and cold.

Another is a lady in our domicile who likes to wake me up, with a shadowy figure standing next to me, the feeling of a presents without the body is to say the least a bit of a change in atmosphere. The feeling of you know someone is there but cannot see them.

I can get into more detail, but I do not feel like taking up the entire area of the thread.

Also from what I have gathered some people are more prone to getting the chill than others.

There are times when I know there is a spirit around and when it feels strongly about something I can tell, and if my mom is in the same room she normally ends up jumping out of her chair just about because she got a chill, while I never get them. ever.

For me it really depends on the spirit, and if they died from natural causes or a horrid death. Some of the ghost of children can feel warm and it's comforting, but others are very cold and sorrowful. The spirits of adults that have been ghost for some time are very chilling they make you tingle all over.

But there are times when they just put a hand on your shoulder or brush into you it doesn't feel chilly just like someone is touching you. Now when they go through me it's a really interesting sensation, both emotionally and physically. Sometimes if they have been around for years the energy levels are crushingly painful, as for those who have not been around that long it's more like getting a quick jolt like you get shocked from another person who's been rubbing their feet on the carpet.

A chill, a shiver up your spine, their energy (positive or negative), or just a general feeling of "oddness."

I too have never had this experience. What would happen if they didn't pass through and stayed inside you --- is that possesion ?????

I tend to believe highly in paranormal activities. You probably have had a spirit go through you at one point in time in your life or another but did not allow yourself to realize what it was. Some people are just more tuned in to this sort of thing than others.

--And they do not ALWAYS come as a chill to the body, sometimes in fact, they can evoke an emotion.

I.E.: You are having a perfect day...all is well and you have naught to feel sad over. You enter a room, visit a new place, and for no apparent reason you have such a hanging and heavy feeling of sadness. You feel gloomy and do not know why. Often can be a spirits projection of their feeling on you, and just one way they have of communication.

When it happens to me I get this cold clamming feeling my skin gets tingley and my hair stands up on my back. I feel the emotions of the said entity and the energy they put off as well.. I get caught with thoughts that are not my own and see pictures in my head.

When a ghost passes trough me I feel very cold, and I pee in my pants, wondering shitless, what happend now, in a fear as never before witnessed.

It is a terrible feeling.

Actually this happens a bit too often in my life. It is not an actual posession, more of an awareness that they are there. A bloated feeling, like a fuzzy blanket that won't leave. You get a very keen sense of dejavu as though you have been here before.

Your body feels a bit numb, you feel a bit light headed, but not enough to take you away from reality, more of a sensation of being tired without the yawning sensation.

Once they do leave, you feel room temperature cold, as though someone just opened a door, or you just walked out of a shower. It lasts for a couple of seconds then dissipates.

Wow Soulshroude, really? Then perhaps I was wrong. I think I DID have spirits pass through me and even stay in me before.

Some people may not even be aware of this happening because they are not perceptive enough.....but for those who are, like myself I have felt heat spots, cold spots, or just a general magnetic type pull slightly.

I would think you would feel a cold rush going through you. I have never had this happen to me but have felt cold spots and have felt a warm touch wrap around me when there was no one there.

i think that if you can feel them touch you that you could in fact feel them pass thru you

You know, I always see the movies depicting that same cold rush, might be where most get the concept. But unfortunatly this is far from the case for many occurences. It would be very cool if it happened all the time.

Depends on the spirit. Believe me. I know. When a good spirit passed through you, you feel a warm tingle. When a bad one passes through you, you feel cold dread. If the bad spirit is powerful enough, it won't pass through you. It'll knock you on your back like a strong opposing magnet.

I do remember being upset and crying and kind of curled up in a ball on the floor holding into my bed for support and I felt someone arms around me... they were not cold, they were almost like it would be if another person were there in the room with me doing that, but it was not as strong. I'm not gonna say it was warm though either... it was just a strange feeling.

A extreme chill and a mass mix of emotions.

Can’t say that any has gone through me but I have felt a chill or sudden drop in air temperature and felt like I was being watched all of a sudden.

i wouldnt know personally but i'm told that you get this chill and depends on the type of spirit it is and the types of memorie the spirit had and how it feels at that present time.

Have often wondered this around friends and the average reply is says cold mist like,a few say they would think it depends on how the spirit is absorbed ,whether it is channeling or possession,I think like hypnotism how it feels is one thing but what is possible during possession is a good question as well.

I have been told that when a spirit passes through, you can sometimes feel thoughts or life experiences from the spirit. I have never had it happen to me but I know people who can sometimes speak with the otherside (or so they claim).

You know that feeling "somebody just walked over my grave"? That's what it feels like. A little cold, yet warm...like the creepy crawlies. A bit drained, yet energized, out of breath....like the wind was knocked out of you. You are scared, yet curious, somewhat satisfied.

Those times when you get uncontrollable shivers, when you get goosebumps all over out of nowehere

It feels as a sudden chill of energy passes through you, you may feel off balance and feel like you could pass out.

A ghost has never passed through me exactly, but they have touched me (or poke me, rather....) several times and gotten extremely close to me. The poking was always hard. Not hard enough to leave a bruse, but hard enough for me to say "ouch." However, when a particularly malevolent spirit got really close to me, it got cold, and I would become paralized. I could actually feel which way it was moving around me because of the trail of goose bumps it left on my skin. I wouldn't be able to move until it backed off a bit. Benevolent spirits I have no problem with (and they're often times the ones who touch/poke me), but the malevolent ones are the ones my body responds to.

I have not had it personally that I know of. But from what I have heard, you feel it. Cold.

PS--And somewhat shakin' up by it, from what I have seen. Maybe it depends on the person feeling it. It's scary to some people.

Soulshroud I find yours like many startling and common.
The feelings one gets ranges depending on the ghost.
There are none sensory experiences leaving you with a feeling after the event.
There are sensory feelings like chills fear hate sadness during.
Possible to have both like a fuzzy event and after a cold feeling and what ever you picked up on.
A feeling of knowing the answer is common, like where the treasure is or the hidden map, the watch or key.

A little tingly sensation that's cold. But it doesn't start from the outside, you feel like it radiates out from within. Or that's just my experience.

When a ghost goes thought u it feels like a cold going up ur body and then u feel a little weird because ur cold for about 2-3 sec.

I just felt a chill and a rush of air the two times it has happened to me.

as I was discussing in another thread at the feelings of a haunted place, I feel this is the same feeling. If a spirit passes through you, I belive it would be like a cold chill or the effect of your hair on your arms standing up. Maybe even like the feeling of someone there with you.

Well for the few times it has happened to me. My senses and instincts kick in and the skin prickling sensation, then the sense of danger. I felt a sudden cold breeze, that stops me dead in my tracks, my heart starts racing and then I feel a sudden flood of emotions usually sad. Then a slight pulling sensation as they let go.

I can't imagine a ghost passing trhough you, but I can visualize this on a television screen and even then it feels bizzare!

depends on the power of the ghost and how long it has been around.

a sudden cold rush..as if rain was being poured over you or thru you. tingling and cold at the same time combined with a sense of awe.Almost as if you feel a loss or twinge of pain or ache...but u don't know why. I guess it's part of the emotions of the spirit.

I have never had that experience but if it was of someone I loved that would be an amazing experience,it would be like your soul is being touched by Eternal life,and if it was demon like I would be very much terrified,I mean who wants evil to touch their soul,A tainted soul,you might not survive it for various reasons the main one being that is could drive you to insanity which could lead to carnage

I get my hair on the back of my neck standing up, and a overwhelming sense of confusion.

I USUALLY FEEL A CHILL AND SLIGHTLY SHIVER. BUT IT PASSSES QUICKLY.

I've only had a ghost actually pass through me once, and it was the strangest experience. I was working at Walgreens one night around Halloween time, and I was behind my cash register when from out of nowhere it felt like I was tackled by a football player or something. I was hit from my right said and then after it passed through it was as though it "kept on running". I looked over to my right thinking that my coworker had bumped into me, but no one was there except for the cigarette wall.

I felt a little disoriented after that, but it was still a cool feeling - minus the fact that I was practically knocked over from the impact LOL

I've had this happen to me a couple of times and each time I felt a chill, and had goose bumps. Only once out of the many times this has happened to me, I felt sort of like I wasnt myself. Like not real, cartoonized.. that's how I described it don't know if that's really the proper way to put it. I just felt as if something else had taken over my body and it lasted several days.

I guess that would explain the odd cold feelings I get from time to time....... I would assume that would be a good explanation of it.

A chill is how its mainy described or a creepy feeling of Im not alone.

I can't remember if this has ever happened to me...I've been in places where people say there are many spirits residing there...I've heard things chairs moving etc but have not felt any chills...and I don't want to either...

It is different for some and depends on how long it takes the spirit to pass through your body. Almost always you feel cold as it is happening. You may also feel short of breath, a heavy feeling, a quezzy feeling in your stomach, light headed and even sometimes a distant voice or voices. I have had this happen to me and have talked with many people who have experienced the same.

I have had this happen and I felt a tingling chill.

Have felt cold spots and the hair on back of my neck stand up and then I know something is near by.

Cold yet warm. lol Then again I like the feeling of cold hands on my flesh..mmmm. Like a cool breeze when there shouldnt be one.

I don't think any chill would be an encounter like that. Everyone usually says that they feel pressure in the air, then a chill, and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. I also think when something of that nature happens it can have the opposite effect, like a sickly sweet warm feeling. I really think it just depends on who, and what your dealing with.

Based on what people had said, they may be able to determine the type of ghost based on the feeling. What type may cause a sickly sweet feeling?

When a ghost passes through me or sort of takes over my body I don't feel myself. I know I'm myself but I'm really spacey and when someone calls for me or something I won't answer to them. I'll look at them but can't say anything..
